Rocksmith + is a masterclass in not knowing how to pitch a product to your audience. A bunch of C level execs sat around and looked at the revenue generated from previous Rocksmith products. Realized the "buy it and we're done" model wasn't giving them the numbers comparable with other edutainment titles in the industry. So in a genius lightbulb moment they decided to sell a product with a subscription (which most people hate) and then make it so you can't import your previous DLC (another f u to their customer base). I feel bad for the developers who had to make this title under the guidance of the exec team - but let this be a lesson to other dev houses.

As a guitarist who is also an application developer not related at all to this product, this comment is 100% accurate. It's sad they jumped the shark and went the subscription route.

at first I was amazed, This is everything I ever wished for in a guitar learning app then I find out not only is it subscription based but I can't even play my old dlcs? how is this acceptable, even rs14 supported back porting songs

Its not as easy as just importing things over. Licensing music is incredibly hard, just search around and you see why. It will get added with time, it just launched give them some time.

Can I adjust some of the custom tones in each songs like adjust this effect so it's crispy and loud on guitar, fat and more dirt on the bass or maybe just change type of tone to use on each section? Like personally a musical taste or like choosing a palatte of an ingredient when you cook stuff...?

Can it work with a Rode NT1 mic with the Rode AI-1?

If the interface is a ASIO or WASAPI device (and it seems like it is) it should work but we can't guarantee support for specific third party audio interfaces. Although if you're using a microphone you might also consider downloading the free Rocksmith Tuner app which can pair to Rocksmith+ and use your phone as the mci input. If that option works well for you it might be an easier setup, but both should be viable options.

I thought Rocksmith Plus was a mobile version of the game…. Was looking forward to trying it since I only have my iPad (not a PC) and it doesn’t work natively on the SteamDeck yet unless formatting Windows or whatever else. Can they or Steam just get the game to work on Steam Deck already? Best guitar game out there, and still a lot of money to be made with DLC’s. It’s not Rocket Science.

Steam only has a obligation to make the game work on steam deck if they advertise it works. Rocksmith 2014 seems to be a complicated title since it deals with windows interfaces. I would suggest keeping it to windows. It's already a complicated software as it is.

If your phone recognizes it as an audio input device it might work but we'd be careful about bluetooth/wireless connections introducing potential latency. If it's something you already have you should give it a try.

Hi Raven44, it depends on where you're trying to play it. If you're playing on PC you can subscribe to Rocksmith+ at www.getrocksmith.com. Scroll down to Choose Your Plan, then click "Try for Free" or "Subscribe Now" depending on what plan you select. After finishing your purchase you'll be able to download the Ubisoft Connect launcher. You'll need to install that and login after which you should find Rocksmith+ in your library. There's you'll be able to download, install, and play Rocksmith+. You can also choose to first download the Ubisoft Connect launcher and subscribe to Rocksmith+ through the store there directly before downloading. If you're playing on mobile you can simply download the app for free, start the app, and choose a plan and subscribe through your mobile store. Let me know if you need any additional help getting started or if you have any questions!

Just asked for a refund, the interface option is pretty much useless imo. It constantly flicks on and off and you hear a ticking sound. Does not work at all... Maybe anyone has a solution? When i open the mtrack audio panel its constant on/off

You should be able to connect using a USB MIDI cable directly to your PS5 if you have a digital piano or keyboard. If you're using an acoustic piano or the speakers on your keyboard you can use the Rocksmith Tuner app and pair it to Rocksmith+ on PS5.

Hi, if you connect your electric guitar to Rocksmith+ and use headphones you should be able to play pretty quietly. We do support other audio interfaces which means you can use any other adapters/cables/interfaces you might have. Including ones with lightning or USB-C type cables. We are not limited to the Real Tone Cable, although if you have a USB adapter you could also convert that to Lightning or USB-C. What device do you want to play Rocksmith+ on?

The subscription service is fine imo as long as we keep getting added songs and features. A lot cheaper than taking guitar lessons from a music teacher! Basically 1 lesson gets you a whole year of knowledge! Keep up the good work!

Rocksmith really failed on this one. I would rather play Rocksmith 2014 on the PC than pay 15 bucks per month, plus pay for the real tone cable. Smartphone microphones are not always the best in terms of quality and recognition.

Agree completely. The least they could do is create a new cable that uses the lightning connector. If the yearly subscription came with a free cable to connect to my iPad, I might be more interested in that business model.

Rubbish it cannot even find my account rocksmith plus on my phone, yes i have to the right password, set ting up the mic in pc version of the game is a nightmare. Also i cannot use an acoustic guitar the option i not there.

unfortunately it's the licensing that causes it. Everything you see on the internet has it, whether it's a streaming service, music and etc... You own a copy of a license and there's no lifetime. it's just you bought it and forget it's there when you actually own one. i didn't mean to say there's no guarantee and all that but when you learn a song you just kinda knew it right from the start because that's how the game is...i know it sucks to be as a subscription service and if the same thing as it goes to Just Dance....it's a learning-software as it is....

Why cant I just play RS+ in disconnected mode (no input)? just let the song and tabs play while i play out of my own amp with my own effects. why is this not a thing? always forcing all of these connections. Today, Even in RS 2014, you force us to click through "sign into your Ubisoft account" for it then to say "the servers are shutdown". You couldn't sign in if you wanted to, yet we have to click through it every time we want to play. over the years, all those clicks to get through add up. ridiculous and really out of touch imo. I will not be keeping a subscription after the trial.

If you use the phone as a mic input option with the Rocksmith Tuner app you'll be able to use your own amp and your own effects to play along. I'd recommend simply ignoring the scoring if you don't intend to use it that way but this will allow Rocksmith+ to detect the input without needing anything extra.

@@rocksmithplusAppreciate the response, but totally missed the point; I'm not interested in having to download your app to go along with the game. I can see it being a solution for people to connect with something they already have, but you've designed the problem in the first place... It's just another way for you to grab more data from users, sell it, and use it for marketing purposes. It says so in your privacy policy. It's blatantly obvious you want us to have to buy or download our way out of the problem. the $20 a month really isn't enough? I have an audio interface that I used during the trial, but the constant tuning prompt every song that i have to click through and "miss" animations are really annoying. I'd appreciate being able to turn that off at times instead of having to ignore it. kind of ironic that a lot of the other comments here are about having connection issues with their devices... maybe a disconnected (no input) option could alleviate some of that and get more people in by not having to worry about it at first? but what do i know. I tried giving it a chance, but I cant keep supporting this type of greed anymore from what feels like every company now. As much as i was enjoying a good bit of what you are offering it's hard to justify the value when I feel like I'm being shorted. p.s. half of your metal and rock songs are chord charts only. I like the chord charts, but searching by tabs makes basically half of what you're offering disappear, its really lame. I was all hyped at first about how much there was to play but a lot of it doesn't even have tabs...

Save yourself the trouble and ignore Rocksmith+. Simply put, it's terrible. A huge step backwards in every way from the original Rocksmith which was stellar in every way. I made the mistake of buying a one year subscription because the original Rocksmith was that good. It seems like all the designers of the original product left Dodge because there is simply no way anyone can make an excellent product and then follow it up with a product that is not only no improvement, but is awful. I could go on, but to summarize: the learning modules are fewer and inferior to the original Rocksmith modules. And as for the song list......let's just say it isn't even a C list of songs. You wont find many - if any - of your favorites on it. I will be surprised if Rocksmith+ exists after this year, it really is that bad. And this is coming from someone who thought the original Rocksmith was a 10 out of 10.
