The rockwell 6s safety razor made out of stainless steel and is a very efficient shaving my beard off. The weight of this safety razor is very heavy at 120 g. It easily went through my beard when shaving my face with two weeks of growth. I used a gillette nacet de blade on the #6 plate rockwell pre shave oil and rockwell shaving cream. What a great shave. Great test for the 6S. I've never gone 6 days. But the 6S was perfect for taking off 3 days of growth. I used the R5 plate for pass 1, the R4 plate for pass 2, and the R2 plate for pass 3 and any pickups. The Gillette Nacet is also my favorite blade. I liked my 6C so much that I bought the 6S and gave the 6C to my son-in-law.

@OhioShaves - I just want to say thanks for these in depth videos. I made the switch from Harry’s to the 6S about to months ago and it’s been fantastic. I relied on a lot of you tube videos to help me decide which razor to try and your videos were the most helpful by far. And that includes learning the best practices/technique for someone new to safety razors too. The Rockwell 6S is just killer. I started off learning the technique on R1 and progressed through every plate and did my second shave on R6 today. With only shaving 2x (3x max a week) I may stay on R6. It honestly doesn’t feel much more aggressive or uncomfortable in any way vs R4 or R6 and the shave is just so insanely smooth after just one face pass and two on the neck/chin. Just crazy! Thanks again!

I just got one of these, and I’m a complete rookie with safety razors. My first mistake was going with the 1 setting on two days growth. My second was using the blades that came with it. I ordered 14 different blades with the razor, and will start trying them out.

@@OhioShaves I went with #3 settings, Dorco Prime blades, 2-1/2 passes. One of my best shaves yet since switching to safety razors. Still not perfect. Those Dorco are about a medium, right? I have a variety of blades in aggressiveness, going all the way up to Feather blades. I’ll work my way up.

Many say the 6c glides over the skin better because of the smoothness of the metal. Others don't see much of a difference.

I got a 6S about 9 months ago. Around the same time I got a Hensen. The 6S is my preferred razor. Usually I use the 4 plate as I shave every 3-4 days.

The Rockwell 6s is the best safety razor because any de blades work well with it. Using mainly Astra Platinum and Persona comfort coated blades. BBS shaves every time as I am shaving every other day.

Thanks for a great video! Just got the 6s today and tried my first head shave with it and so far I’m very pleased. Got a better shave in half the time compared to my old razor (mühle r89). Very nice grip on the handle as well.

I went from Muhle R89 to R41 (too rough for me) and landed with Rockwell 6S and very happy with it. For me plate 2 works well for daily shaving, after 2-3 days of growth plate 4 is ok. Tried plate 5 and it is already too aggressive for me. Astra of Feather blades work well.

Great video just said to rewatch to refresh on technique.😊 Honestly Gillette nacet is it. I started my Rockwell experience about 2 months ago with Gillette nacet on plate 3 for face and head shaves, and it immediately resonated with what you have always said about both products. It sure beats the Rockwell razor blade, though I have not tried a feather blade before but will soon do. No doubt Gillette nacet is one of the best razor blades out there; it's sharp, mild and smooth but requires attention and carefulness while being used.

I'm so conflicted! I've gone down the razor rabbit hole and I've been researching all kinds of stuff! I plan to get my first de razor and try it out. Ivd narrowed it down to Rockwell, but idk if i should the 6s or the T2 stainless! 😅😁👍🏻 both seem like glorious razors! I originally was going for looks with something classy, wooden, or an art deco looking old razor, art deco being my favorite styling! However, I've been looking more at the overall build and general quality, and rockwell seems to fit that! Now just gotta choose! 😅

Thanks for the great video and your efforts such as editing etc. Looking forward to the comparison of the 6C vs 6S. Sounds perhaps uncommon, but for me there never was a learning curve with the 6C, it went great by intuition from the first shave on. I finally got the right feeling for the Twig, and started liking the Twig more than I used to. So for me it was the opposite, the Twig needed me to understand applying the right techniques.

Do you wash your skin with cleanser before shaving ever? I tend wash my face and head before shaving my head but then my face dries out by the time i get to moisturising after the shave.

It comes with a much smaller white insert that holds 2 adjustable plates and the other slot holds the handle and one of the plates attached to it. You also get some free Rockwell razor blades as well in the compact organizer. I’ll well show it the next time I shave with the 6C.

Been using the Merkur 34c and absolutely love it with Astra’s or Perma Sharp blades. My beard looks to be close to yours other than I keep it grown out most of the time so I only shave my neck and checks 2-3 times a week. Your videos are my favorite shaving videos!! Keep up the awesome work!!

Yes. A Viking chieftain was my first razor. I actually sent it back to Amazon and purchased a Merkur 34C. My reason for this was everyone mentioned it was a great Razor to learn from. They where definitely right. My second was the Rockwell 6C safety razor and it changed everything. It actually made me a better shaver. This is why I recommend it to most everyone.

The 6S is wonderful as well. If you prefer SS over zinc alloy and made in the USA. Then, yes this is worth the price. I still need a few more shaves with it before I compare the differences between the two

@@charlesm7646 It may sound ridiculous, but even though I was perfectly happy with the 6C, I still ordered a 6S because two friends of mine broke their 6C razors at the threads under the cap (I read a couple of such cases on the Wicked Edge subreddit). Zamak alloy is not forever, but maybe stainless steel will serve me for a few more decades... :)
