I used to babysit back in the '80s and regularly watched SNL waiting for the parents to come home. I remember when this episode originally aired and being delighted, especially at Meatloaf's "You got paid?!?" I must have already heard about Rocky Horror but I can't imagine that I had ever seen a midnight showing in a movie theater at that point, since I wasn't yet old enough to drive. We often went to Rocky Horror when I was in college.

I met Meat Loaf at a convention several years ago. I wasn’t a fan or anything, but my friend who couldn’t go to the con wanted an album signed and I said I’d get it for him. Some people were saying Meat Loaf was a kind of jerk and not very friendly. Because I didn’t really care to meet him, and was just getting the signature for my friend, I didn’t really have any expectations. His line at the con was enormous, and I waited for hours. When I finally got up to him, he shook my hand (after I had heard several people say he wouldn’t shake their hand) and he was quite friendly. He signed my friend’s album, and did the usual small -talk guests do at cons. “How you doing?” “Enjoying the con?” I’m glad that, despite what ai kept hearing about him, my encounter was very nice and I’ll always have that memory.

It's hard to pick what my favorite thing about this is, but the fact that the "water pistol" is definitely a recycled Trek prop is probably a top three.

LOL I just watched it this past Halloween at my university, everyone got bags of stuff and a paper telling you when to use them, I had no idea beforehand about how it was a participatory experience and people would shout things out at certain times, it was a blast! Glad I happened upon this skit now so I can understand it XD
