Quick summary; My GoPro didn't capture sound on the Eisenhower Tunnel for some odd reason -- thus the quickie song selection to have something instead of no sound at all. I've had my hands full just splicing together the huge amount of video that I took over the trip with very little editing, sound/music, encoding, and uploading. Hopefully I won't burn out on it and compile a more polished project out of it all, but for now -- I decided to just upload the more or less raw video from the trip. It might be unique to have so much raw video documenting the scenery, etc. on KZfaq in 1080p. It's not been the easiest undertaking just to do this much. Getting my money's worth of my 200 gigs of data transfer from Cox this month!
Anyway, so, this is the Rocky Mountain National Park and surrounding area leg of the trip. At this point I had seen so much scenery it had become a little passé, but I had put in for a job with the National Parks Service at this park in particular and I was eager to check it out to see what might have been. It's a National Park for a reason. I wish I might have had a week to just explore it and get video and pictures, etc. I got like less than 2 minutes of video of the moose; which I have never seen 'in the wild' before in my lifetime for instance. I was headed for Boulder on my way through and with knowing the rains would be coming early afternoon; it was just too rushed.
Got plenty of GoPro video though! LOL The Alpine Tundra and Alpine Lakes were really impressive to see in person. It's just not something that you experience very often if you don't live there. Not like 'tundra' is super awe inspiring other than really unique -- riding up where the snow is still here and there over 11,000 feet. Pretty cool!
I was surprised at how neat Grand Lake was too. I've never seen Tahoe, but it had a feel of that. The mountainsides with the evergreens down to the water; very pretty! Neat little resort area with cabins looking down over it too.
