A friend of mine and I were talking about this song (Philadelphia Morning). It gives this feeling of like a very humble beginning of his long journey of training. Like the song doesnt even end triumphantly, it just ends very gently as he struggles to run up the stairs. It has like this feeling of hope, but it has this small feeling of hope, but its still overshadowed by the long journey that he has. Great song.

I agree, Bill Conti did a great job in capturing Rocky's long journey ahead. This segment shows that even though Rocky has a lot of friends backing him up, his long journey is also still a personal one. I think the use of the AM radio early in the scene also does an excellent job of setting this all up. Hearing the radio broadcast let's the viewer know how isolated Rocky is at waking up at this hour, and how tough the outdoors is to be heading out at this time.

How AMAZING it must have been to be there that night. Everybody is cheering for Rocky running up the steps in the movie as if he is coming around the corner and running up the stairs in real life. This part, as well as others in the movie, reduced me to tears, showing how Rocky continued to meet his hardships and challenges head on.

Some people just don't get it what this movie represents... This scene should tell them, it's absolutely timeless. For me personally it's even epic and beautiful than the Rocky Montage Training. It's shows us the begining of starting something that we think it's impossible to reach. For a moment we ignore it and decided to work hard, it’s really really hard and cruel, you have to push it until there’s no energy and strong left. But if for a miracle you can go trough all this, refuses to give up and stand still, you will became a legend, just as Rocky did. When the scene changes to him climbing the steps for the first time, along with the heavy, desperate and strong growing Philadelphia’s Morning theme by Bill Conti, give me CHILLS. You begin to testify the born of a legend who couldn’t have gone that far and break all the odd’s. The impossible maybe it’s only for the others...

I was just saying this to a friend not long ago. Being a big fan of musical scores, I felt this piece did a perfect job conveying the exact feeling you described. Wonderful.

Is it true that this house (where he comes out, stretches and starts to run), is now a bad place? Because i want to visit it, but some say it's not safe there. Does anybody know more about this?
