I'm impressed with how well the 2x4 Kawasaki keeps up with the big dogs.

+Wes Williamson no kidding. I was even more impressed with my little cousin who was riding it. That was his first time riding and he picked up on it quick and got a little too courageous for me lol

Those hills really weren't a big deal. They are just the kinda thing that if you are going to do it... you DO IT.. you don't half ass it. If you half ass it, and roll down backwards. you could end up getting hurt or busting up your machine. I recently lost a good amount of weight... I dropped over 140lbs. I am now about 240lbs. I was close to 400lbs, and I would bust up hills like those on my Sportsman 850 with no problem. Just when you decide you are going to do it.. you have to DO IT.. hesitation will get a person hurt. On a funny note... the top end on my Sportsman 850 SP 2016 has incresed by about 11 mph. No mods or money either. Just losing the weight. OLOLOL It's like losing an entire rider.

100% agree with you. That's how I messed up my face a about a year ago while trying to climb a hill. I think I still have that fear in the back of my mind so I just stick to the sidelines for now lol. Congrats on the weight loss though, that's awesome! I could stand to lose a few lbs myself. It would probably do wonders for my honda rubicon since it's already down on power to begin with haha.

Swamp Ass, thank you very much for the compliment man!! I feel so much better now. And I have to agree with you if you messed up your face doing that before that's probably why you have some apprehension in doing it now. As human beings we don't soon forget things like that.

I just picked up the 2018 Yamaha 450 with EPS, it's a mean machine! I live in the mountains though and get all the big rocks to play with. Haven't seen one rock in any of your vids!!!
@SwampAss7 жыл бұрын
you must not be looking hard enough. If you squint you might see one on the ground somewhere lol. it's mostly flat where i live at (central texas). We did go to a park a while back called hidden falls a few months back that has some rocks but nothing that compares to living in the mountains haha. Hope you enjoy the new ride! Put up some videos when you get to ride it!

Hehe I would love to come down and ride with you guys the trails look sweet and I'm sick of the rocks already haha. Thanks man! Will do :D

Yeah I'd think twice about that too...some of those were a little too steep!
@SwampAss7 жыл бұрын
Maybe in my younger days I would have given them a go but now I'm good just taking the cautious route, lol.

Was out there yesterday. Stuck one Polaris in the first 10 minutes, laughed at her and pulled her out. Then I got buried two times within a hundred feet because two dudes said "You got that dude" . Rain has actually made RR a challenge. A day of "Hold my beer moments"

You shoulda nailed that hill man!!! You Texans got to much flat land. If you come to Kentucky you would be terrified of the hills we gotta climb lol. We got whole mountainsides so they are steep AND LONG. If you dont make it or stop you come tumbling back down. I guess thats where I got that " hit everything wide open" attitude. If you dont nail stuff around here with a head of steam you probably wont make it :) You hate steep hills and I hate deep water I guess we all got our weaknesses lol.
@SwampAss6 жыл бұрын
Man I would take water over a big ass hill any day of the week lol. I'm afraid of heights and more afraid of tumbling all the way back down a hill. I watched some videos of someone in pennsylvania climbing some stupid hills. They looked like they went straight up and back in some instances. Yall are freaking crazy! Definitely gotta pin it, lean forward and hope the laws of physics don't let you down lol. I definitely need to learn how to climb hills with this thing though. I feel like I loose too much power if i'm in 2nd gear and first will only get me to about 5mph. And my biggest weakness is spiders...god i hate spiders!

Jeff Bob......Im on the KY TN border just north of Nashville. Im literally 4 miles from the state line. Allen county. Closest Ky city would be Bowling Green. We usually ride at Kentucky Lake ( LBL Land Between the lakes Turkey Bay OHV) or over at Black Mountain in Harlan KY. Heard of a place nearby called " pump jack" which seems to be getting pretty popular but I never been.. Ride the " 5 dollar farm" up in Camner, Ky sometimes as well. Its only a couple hundred acres but for 5 dollars its a good time. My favorite place hands down is Black Mountain though....Love the challenge and rugged country!!! I used to burn that place up on a 400EX Honda

Swamp.....you can climb that hill brother. Watch the video again and notice what the other guys do. That guy on the little red quad had his engine breathing fire before he even hit the bottom. Thats how its done. Get your engine breathing fire in second and keep her pinned all the way. Its hard to loose the power when you got it maxed out before you even begin. That applies to climbing up out of those creek banks too. I watched the dude keep getting stuck trying to climb up out of the creek. He didn't nail his throttle till he was already hung up. If he was breathing fire before he crossed the water he woulda jumped up the embankment. The way to defeat the laws of gravity is to COUNTER IT LOL. Sorry to be preaching at ya like some know it all old geezer but after 20 years of riding rough and THANKFULLY never destroying a quad or getting hurt ive learned a thing or two. You need to climb that hill...wind that Honda out before you hit the bottom and ride it to the top.You wont blow that engine up its got a limiter and its a Honda engine. When your done your confidence level will boost and the same principle will apply to other things you face. Back in my hay days when all we had was 300-400cc quads we had to use the throttle and momentum as a weapon against obstacles. I think its hilarious how guys buy the biggest baddest 100hp machine they can get and cant ride worth a damn LOL. I actually think you riding the Honda and learning to conquer things the old fashion way will make you a more talented and technical rider. Wind that Honda up and throw flames out the tail pipe and climb that hill. The Confidence boost will be worth it!!!!

What size tires does the new grizzly have? And is it stock height?
@SwampAss6 жыл бұрын
They are 28x12x12 terminators in the rear and 28x10x12 in the front. Everything else stock except for the snorkel he has now.

That big hill almost took my life,my first trip there on a showroom fresh 2012 stock 850 orange madness le with ps, i made the mistake of pulling up to the top of the hill to look down,thank god i didnt send it blindly it was one helluva drop,while i was looking down a cr 250 hit it at 70 plus before i could grab reverse he hit me between the left front tire and radiator, thank god i was off to the right by 2 feet his bike ripped my atv apart and missed my left ear by inches,he crashed hard and broke his collar bone,his bike n body flew 100 feet past me, being from florida before we climb a hill we post a spotter at the top to keep this from happening, the mob of his friends that quickly gathered cussing me informed me that the hills have directions, you dont go down .only up, i saw the arrow but learned the hard way, it broke his clutch lever on his bike, was his only damage, i offered to take him to hospital but he said he would go on his own,he had full safety gear on, thank god or it could have been worse, after everybody calmed down and realized it was a honest mistake,and looked at my poor $11,000 polaris totaled with less than 1 mile on it, i think they felt bad for me,i learned a big lesson that day,fuck rocky ridge,their map or gate people gave no info about directional hills,and i never went back,went and bought the same bike new again a month later, this time i put bumpers,winch,lift,29 ,swampers, before i rode it, so swamp ass better safe than sorry, no way in hell i would go up that hill!
@SwampAss6 жыл бұрын
damn that's a hell of a story right there. Glad you are alright. Definitely sucks that happened but definitely better than what could have happened. When I was younger I climbed that hill all day but now I take less chances lol. That and I don't know how to climb hills with a manual atv. I feel like I would bog down before I get to the top in second gear and 1st isn't fast enough.

Does the guy in the blue shirt have concrete in that fucking cooler, or does he need to lose a few lb's? That thing is squatting a little much.
@SwampAss7 жыл бұрын
Lol, my primo definitely isn't a small guy, but I think the rear shocks are set at the softest level or something because i've always noticed it leans a little in the back too. But I'm not gonna tell him anything because he'll whoop my ass haha.
@logansapp19157 жыл бұрын
Why are you so scared of hills lol, I understand the camera made it seem less steep but still, in Ohio I've climbed hills where if you would stop in the middle you wouldn't make it, all on an 04 Yamaha 350 4wd
@SwampAss7 жыл бұрын
+Logan Sapp I've definitely done my fair share of sketchy hill climbs in my younger years. I just recently got back into riding after a 10 year hiatus and one of the first sketchy hills i climbed I flipped and the atv landed on my face and I had to have surgery to get everything back in place. Still kinda sits in the back of my mind.

@SwampAss6 жыл бұрын
Sorry just noticed your comment. There was a helmet involved but it was one of those stupid half helmets ones. My full face helmet was in the mail and I was borrowing the half helmet from my buddy until mine came in the mail.

Quad Drifter those aren’t the kinda quads for drifting there for mudding and trailing and doing yard work there not like a race quad we’re is about speed and drifting. Plus I wouldn’t do a drift unless I had a helmet on!!!
