This was the first episode of the series after the two TV movies. This started the long line of David getting the absolute shit beat out of him so he can Hulk out.

Why are the clips so dark? Are they taking from the Blu-Ray transfers? Because I heard those are dark and have scenes cut, that's why I've stuck with my standard DVD collection.

I totally agree. The original versions were much brighter and as far as 70s and 80s shows are concerned, the Incredible Hulk used high quality cameras and film for their production.
