@@annconnor1002 dogs doesn't understand why all of a sudden dad is hitting on mom. He loves them both but he thinks mom is getting hurt. It could very easily make a good dog mean. I would hate to see that happen.

German Shepherds have a strong sense of loyalty to their owners

Over the last 45 years our family has had the pleasure of raising/living with 5 GSDs. We would never allow our canine family members to be used in scenes like this! Fortunately, GSDs are intelligent enough to handle conflicting messages. But there's no real good for subjecting them to this situation. We know what a GSD will do if family are threatened. So, avoid aggravating behaviors. These canines are too smart for this type of temptation. Would you treat your human family like this? Then also respect the canine family member or not be at all surprised to get bitten!

Yes. I wish they would stop putting these animals under duress and thinking it's funny. We watch because they are adorable and we want to see them happy, not stressed out.

It's not entertainment. This is a training video demonstrating that German Shepherds can be trained to defend their owners from attack. As a woman, it gives me a sense of relief to see this, to know there is some practical form of defense in the shape of a loving dog to protect me should I ever need it in real life. Possibly one day the owner will be glad the dog was trained to protect her! They are being realistic and practical in training a GUARD ANIMAL to act like one.

@@cmm5542 No. Read the description and familiarize yourself with some of their videos. For ex. sleeping in her dog's bed has nothing to do with dog protection training. That's because it's supposed to be entertaining. But they clearly missed the boat with this troubling video, lol.

Dogs are definitely protective. My older sister has a dog as well. I remember when she first brought him home. It was a few years back I went over to her house for dinner one Friday evening. When I had gotten there I naturally went and gave her a hug. Her actually got in between us to quote on quote protect her. He started barking and growling basically telling me you better back up lady. My sister had to put him in his cage for a while, here without knowing me yet he must of thought I was trying to strangle her. After a while my sister let him out and he was cool and started to get to know me. Ever since he’s been cool with me and now every time I come over he always wants me to pet him.

The disclaimer on the video made it very clear this is not for fun: they're demonstrating to viewers that German Shepherds can be trained to protect women from violence. It has actually bolstered my decision to get one for myself, seeing how protective they are. That was clearly their intent, to let everyone know something they may not have realized before, just what a good safeguard having a well-trained guard dog is.

Correct, this is not to be toyed with! The Shepherd by instinct wants to protect and calm his pack, but if anything goes down for real it can go very badly. This ex-girlfriend of mine, while in an angry, intoxicated state tried to hit me with a frying pan (seriously a frying pan) I didn't see it coming at all, but I did see my Shepherd, Loki lunge across my body into her. He saw it. The screaming was awful as he bit her face, and eye!!! I have very little sense of humor about this video, sure it was not done with mal- intent. But still teasing such a faithful, protective, diligent, animal companion.... Bad Karma!

My German immediately trained, won't cross the street until I say OK. One day I said go around the building and come back, he did exactly that, Now he is 11 w/ hip issues but never needed a leash.

First of all, I like this couple 💑 , because I know they love their animals. But I like them w/o the dog TREATMENTS LIKE THESE 🐕 I even think it's done in the name of training. I don't think that Rocky is capable of telling the difference in the so alike things that youall put be4 him through. For him to be confused by. He is protective naturally but I hope you're not trying to get Rocky to take over your part so you can nap when you should be listening out for mommy 😉. It does make me sad to see him so frustrated and confused when he is put to the test that require such complex reasoning.
