I didn't think this song would work with a orchestra but this version is surprisingly good. I clicked on this video expecting a train wreck and found myself pleasantly surprised.

Growing up my dad would put on rod stewart on the stereo to get pumped up like a pre-workout, then everyone at home at around 9:30 in the morning will be in the mood and just have that positive rythm throughout the day including my grumpie grandad. It's that rough and husky voice yet smooth like velvet has always been rock n roll for me. We celebrate you and your music, from the Philippines.. Cheers lad!

My moms all time favorite growing up. She seen you 5 times. I remember she'd dance around the house like she was mad. She'd smile and clean and nothing could bring her down. I love and miss you mom. Terribly. I find no joy here without you. None. I hope to see you soon mom. I need a hug.

Because when you want to die (at least when it's due to depression) you can hear something and know logically that it's stunningly joyful/beautiful/impactful and it makes you feel worse because you can't feel anything. You can taste delicious food, yet your mouth stays dry and you can barely choke it down because you can't appreciate the flavour. You know there's an amazing world it there with amazing experiences, but you can't FEEL any of it, particularly no hope, no motivation, just a void when you picture the future and you're so tired. Always so tired.

The Faces - what was the lineup? Or was it only the original recording as reworked with the RPO?

neckapb been listening to the original all morning I’m pretty sure this is the origin with the RPO overdubbed onto it. I could be wrong but that’s how it sounds to me :)

It is his song. He wrote it with Ronnie Wood. You’re confusing it with Stay with me (baby) by Ragovoy and Weiss and recorded by Lorraine Ellison in 1966. And certainly not the Sam Smith number. Famously recorded by the Faces in one take first time, producer asked them to do a second take and they took one look at each other and walked out the studio, to the pub
