Westwood girl here and proud. He did us proud. Snobby mare. Ek punch above itself creatively with Oor Roddy ,the Mary Chain & The Drummer out of Mogwai. As usual it celebrates it's fitba players' more . Roddy should have schools named after him as should Campbell Owen and the Reid Brothers .

I love how frequently Bill Forsyth (film director of offbeat comedies Gregory’s Girl, Local Hero, Comfort & Joy, etc.) comes into Roddy’s comments. Especially that he’d chosen Mark Knopfler as the producer for Knife due to Knopfler’s association with Local Hero (as well as his talent). This interview is something.

He is one of my favorite artists and I have never seen this til today. Thank you for such a beautiful gift about a shy genius at such an open age. This made my day.

i never saw the video for "walk out to winter" or for "oblivious". not ALL of the best music was coming from outside of the U.S. but certainly a lot of it. mark knopfler had produced bob dylan by the time he produced roddy so he wasn't producing slouches!!!

I love his respect for all types of music, for love, and especially for women (his anti-machismo attitudes & values).

Yeah Roddy's the man! Great musician and he seems like an awesome bloke, with a rare, gentle, introspective and pure-seeming energy.

The last section when he explains "How Men Are" made me tear up.

The female interviewer (private school eddycaysham) goes "East Kilbride was full of working class types and they aren't very creative are they - were you like a little flower?" Managing to insult his masculinity, his peer group, and probably a whole lot else. The mystery of women like her is "do they know what they are doing or was she thrown from her horse so many times as a gel, that ..... nope... she hasn't got a clue"..

Every single question that she asks him is a veiled critical remark.

@@scinformation7229 And he's both talented and was widely accepted by peers of his era like Neil Finn, Ian McCulloch
