It doesn't work as well on Windows.

Did you try adjusting the preamp in your camera? It may vary camera to camera.

ok but u could show how it looks together but i can imagine no portability...so which mic is replacement on the go and also stationary? usb not on the go right?

the rode usb mic is definitely NOT for on the go. You would want this more for talking head or studio work. Lately I have been using the video mic pro plus. I use it out and about and inside as a boom also. Hey thanks for the video idea...I think my next will be on it. I still adore this mic though. Still has the best sound because it is omnidirectional rather than a shotgun mic.

I'm using Maono USB mic. It doesn't have a headphone jack/input. How can I connect this to my DSLR?

_I have been using this microphone along with a Blue Snowball for the last two years and to be honest there is very little difference between all these U.S.B. microphones. As a matter of interest you can also use the Rode USB Microphone as an external microphone with your phone. All you need is an O.T.G. cable_

Great tip! Never thought about using it with my phone. As far as the differences between the 2 mic...I’ve never tried a blue snowball. I’ll have to check it out.

_Know very little about XLR microphones...but from reading and talking to people the XLR's seem to be ahead of the USB Mics...Only problem is you also have to purchase an audio interface and all those wires sticking out all over the place doesn't appeal to me.. B.T.W....if you're using your microphone with your phone camera you have to download a free app called "Open Camera"...You _*_will_*_ notice the difference in the audio quality immediately..The Blue Snowball (to my ears is sounds a little more bassie)_

Michael Crowe I agree that the xlr would be an improvement, but like you, I’m not reading to make that leap just yet. KZfaq for me, at least right now, is an amazingly fun hobby. At this point, I’ve got a few decent audio options...if I invest in more gear would probably look at different lens options or a gimble. Still on the fence about a gimble though.

Try out the otg cable...Costs less than a dollar ...As regards a gimble...try out the KZfaq editor to stabilize your video before you invest in it..I have been mildly surprised how good it is at stabilizing my videos. The trick is not to have it too shaky to begin with...This is an example from my budget mobile phone of a video I took on location...Notice how stable the Y.T. editor made it.....kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l96KlqdnutbGmmQ.html.

Does anyone know is the Canon 6D is compatible with this mic?

The mic uses power it receives through the computer...so you would have to have it plugged into your computer then use a cable in the headphone area of the mic then to put into your mic jack. You are better off finding a mic with a 3.5mm cable. Been using the ride wireless go mic...it’s inexpensive and easy to use.

Thanks so much for your response @@RebeccaMeyer. Yes, the mic is plugged to my mac also I used it with a Sony RXO II and didn't work :(

Jose Arrieta did you try adjusting your settings in the camera? You may need to fiddle with volume either in the camera or mic.
