This is the ULTIMATE video about setting up the R0DECaster Pro 2 for DUAL PC STREAMING/GAMING that no one else has even THOUGHT about making!
Sorry its long but it covers a LOT including separate routing for Twitch VODs. Step by step, everything you need for the best Dual PC setup that gives you complete control of your stream mix directly form the RCP2.

Just noting for anyone else having issues - I also had an issue with the Realtek audio input on my streaming PC. The Rodecaster Por 2 Main Stereo Microphone settings had AI noise reduction enabled which was causing all sorts of issues - disabling this resolved my issues

I only have a single pc setup but there are methods you use here that I can as well to get more control on my inputs. One of them is utilizing line inputs through the stereo process. Hopefully rose releases something soon, as they told me they are still working on a fix for more virtual channels

I have a Rodecaster Duo and a Rode Streamer X, have an ASUS ROG gaming laptop and a gaming PC. I want to run streaming from the laptop, play on the PC. The camera and game will be captured with the Streamer X, all audio will be controlled from the Caster Duo. At the moment it is the sound that I am having problems with. Any ideas for such a setup?

Do you have any problems with the DUO when you switch things around? I don't have the line cords and the elgato. When I switch things around on the streaming PC and software of rode it messes with setting in the OBS and discord. Any clue how to fix it>?

when i went through this process i do not get a "line out" audio option in my system settings. It shows "Speakers (realtek audio)" im not getting any system sounds etc through it at all. do you know why this could be?

@@Dannyhollyw00d Hard to say, it’s Windows and and also many different systems/motherboards with different drivers. You could try and reinstall your audio drivers, maybe that will help.

@@derCyberpunk It would work as configured in this video. Simply set the Teamspeak input device to Microphone Rodecaster Pro 2.

Kudos on this tutorial! One question, though. Coming from the GoXLR my first intent for buying the RCP2 is to include the occasional podcast amongst friends. But seeing as the mics besides the SM7B will become line ins on this setup. Do you have a suggestion for additional mics later on? Whether it be an additional interface, etc? Thanks for your time and vids!

I believe it is likely that Rode will enable additional virtual interfaces in the future that will free up at least one physical mic input in this configuration so that would help you. Couldn’t guess when that might happen though. Outside of that, if you’re strictly looking at analog microphones for your podcast friends you’d probably have to go with a separate mixer/interface and bring that into the RCP2.

I have USB headphone and I stream with 2 pc... 1pc for gaming and 1pc for streaming... So rodecaster pro 2 only have 2 USB port... So how I'm gonna plug my headset? Please help me

Great video! The only thing im struggling with is once all of my audio channels are added to OBS, my sliders do not adjust volume within OBS (Example: Music is playing and is active in OBS. I move music slider down on RCP2 and it lowers in my headset but not in OBS.) Any fixes?

Doesnt Rode Unity get rid of all the need for these physical cable routing to virtual devices on the streaming PC?

@@enidoi It gives you more virtual audio sources on whichever PC you install it on, but you can’t control the Unity virtual faders with the RCP2.

@@ashy941 Yea i think that makes sense. I was more looking at ways to break out all audio into different channels for OBS that then would make VOD music easier as well as game/desktop/chat broken out for recordings/editing. Will have to test this out.

If you’ve set this up exactly as in the video, hit the mute button on the game chat slider.

What I dont understand is usb1 and 2 swapable? I wanna use chat on the gaming pc and have game and chat separated on the game PC. VOIP in game voice chat is bound to a button that push to mute discord audio so Im not hot mic-ing my our discord chat with in game voip.

Sure, you can swap them…no problem. You have to run Rode Central from whichever computer is connected to USB1.

Hey Ashy! I love the vids and your other ones helped me setup my procaster 2 with my dual pc setup. i just wanted to ask if you have run into any problems? When im live, my procaster will freeze and sound will freeze too causing me to turn off the mixer and turn it back on. i wanted to know if youve had that issue or something close? i love this mixer but if this keeps happening i might go back to my go xlr

I’ve seen some strange issues from time to time but usually only if I’m messing with the configuration and it gets “confused”. Like when I was putting this video together and changing things up, headphone 1 stopped working for some reason but then came back a couple minutes later. I’ve also had routing to a specific output freeze. These weird issues have only happened maybe 3 or 4 times and never during the course of just normal use. Maybe open a ticket with Rode (they’re fairly responsive), or if it’s a recent purchase try getting a replacement?

I have a rode duo, Can I do the line out for game chat on it like you did?

As long as you’re not using the 2nd mic input, you should be able to use that as a Line input for game chat.

Great videos. Question I’m having issues with getting game play back to stream pc. It shows on rode caster out out but I get no desktop audio on game pc. I do have in game chat coming though tho. Any thoughts. I have update driver also restarted both systems and also the rosecaster

Make sure your OBS audio source for the main mix is “Microphone RCP2 Main Stereo” not “Speakers RCP2 Main Stereo”

I've been trying to find out for a while how I can turn on loudness equalization in Windows 10 because this setting for steps is supposed to help But unfortunately I haven't found a way to do this yet used the rodecaster duo

Great video, i have some questions tho, what happens in the case that you are not playing a game like call of duty that allows you to change game chat output to LineOut? will the stream not be able to hear game chat for those games or will i just not be able to control game chat with the fader? what do you do in those cases?

The chat audio will just be combined with the main audio in that case, so no, you won’t have separate control over it.

I'm looking to get one of these devices but i've got wireless heaphones can i still use this device? and i've also got a usb mic can i use that aswell? and i have a duel pc set up Can we input digital audio into the road caster? Example UBS mic audio into rode caster and the rode caster can out put that to the gaming pc? and the stream via OBS? Can we also output digitial signal from the game pc and discord/squad coms to the rode caster and moiniter that via the wireless headset? Cheers Deadllee

You’re not going to have a good experience with wireless headphones and mics with the RCP2.

@@Deadlleettv_ I’m going with NO. First, unless it’s a Rode USB mic, you have no way to connect it. Second, if it is a Rode USB mic, you have to use one of the USB connections for it and then there goes your dual PC setup. Lastly, you could possibly use your USB headphones if they have a Line In, but you lose any/all software audio enhancement features that come with them.

@@ashy941 i had a feeling as much you're forced to have a XLR mic but i think there is a work around with the wireless headphones just loop the heaphone back into the pc audio jack and monitor with the heaphones in the pc thanks for the help :) greats videos just wish they made this device where you can add a usb mic without taking up the second usb audio slot then this would be the best thing in the world

Hey - I'm planning to implement this kind of setup soon. However my streaming PC will be a laptop with a combination input/output jack. How would you recommend splitting this for the Twitch VOD setup at the end that requires access to both line in and line out on the streaming PC?

I notice you don't have the usb c cable on your notes. I am also trying to setup dual pc and trying to find the correct usb c cable for my second pc. Is the cable a special usb c cable or any type will work?

The device comes with USB C cables but C to A work fine.

It’s not necessary. It’s another option that gives you dedicated fader controls over specific audio sources.

Hey, this video is fantastic but I am having a heck of time getting OBS to get any Audio from the Gaming PC or Music from the streaming PC (even switched to Amazon music just in case so I knew it was setup the same way). I have watched and rewatched the setup to get the RCP2 Main in OBS (and yes, its an Input Devive, lol), have changed my music over to the right output etc but that fader in OBS is picking up nothing. No Audio from my gaming PC is transfering over at all for OBS to catch. Every other setup thing works, all faders control the right things, including system sound, mic works, headphones etc. Any thoughts?

Break the stereo pair on inputs 2/3, use input 2 for second mic, use mono cable instead of stereo cable on input 3 for system alerts. Mic 2 will take over the fader control that was previously system alerts so adjust accordingly.

Im having a issue with my discord audio coming thru obs. I have everything set up like your vid for VOD. My discord is coming thru the correct chat channel on the rode caster, but not out through obs. BTW, great vid and thanks for help in advance. Discord settings is input (Mic 2-rodecaster pro II chat) output is (Speakers Pro II chat)

Thanks for this very detailed, one of a kind video! I currently have a GoXLR w/ dual PC setup. It's setup similarly to your diagram in this video however my stream PC mic only works when I have both PCs on and the input is for the stream PC only. I also have a different mic for the game PC that I use when I don't want both PCs turned on. But I prefer to use my stream PC mic since it's the better one but I don't always want both PCs on, like when I am just gaming and not streaming. So, based on your setup in this video, will the Rodecaster Pro 2 allow me to use one mic for dual stream PC/game PC setup, as well as single game PC setup when I want to? Thanks for the hard work on the video!

In this setup, there is only one mic and can be used for gaming even when the streaming PC is switched off. Does that answer your question?

Make sure you selected the correct output for line out. Make sure it’s not the “digital” output. For example touch may have two outputs like “Realtek Digital” and “Realtek USB”. You’d want the USB one in that case.

1.) install discord on game pc 2.) route discord out either RcP2 secondary or line out (recommended)

@@mauricenld4167 It only matters if for some reason you want your discord chat in stereo or if you absolutely must have your discord chat separate from your game chat. You really only have two choices with this configuration of you want Discord to route through the ROdecaster: a.) Discord chat is combined with game chat or b.). Discord chat is combined with game audio.

Thanks for the video, very informative. Little advice. You don't need the short humorous video clips like the one at 3:14. I'm here for information, and perhaps learn something. They are cringe and unnecessary.
