last question speed : 8/5 time will be :5/8 difference time 60 min which means 8-5 unit : 3 unit 3unit :60 1 unit : 20 initial unit 8 : 160 min. answer earlier i watched your ratio video thats why it became easier for me , thank you sir

Had the question been "...reached in 60 minutes" rather than "60 minutes earlier", 3/8 of x can be equated to 60. Since it's the latter, 5/8 of x should be equated to 60, right? 5/8 being the time saved by reaching 60 mins earlier. And hence, the x would come out to be 96.

Time is now 3/8 less right? So if time is 3/8 less then equation should be 5/8*x=60(using multiplication factor)? Please anyone clear my doubt!

Given that time is decreased by 60 minutes. We've calculated that if speed is increased by 3/5, time will decrease by 3/8. And actually, that decrease is equal to 60 minutes. So, 3/8*(x) = 60 minutes => x = 60*8/3=> 160 minutes.

I followed your formula but couldn't match the answer here😢 1) While covering the distance of 540 km, if the speed of Car is increased by 3 kmph then it takes 2 hours less to cover the same distance then find the new speed of the car? a) 30 kmph b) 40 kmph c) 50 kmph

HERE IS A FUN EXERCISE ON THE CONCEPT UISNG THE VIDEO ITSELF: the time take to complete the video is 22 mins and 16 seconds. Now, the playback speed is 1.25 instead of 1. Calculate the decrease in time taken to watch the video.... :)

@@aerikakaushal there's a difference between those two cases. In your first doubt case, final speed was given instead of increase in speed. (5/4)S was the final speed. Increase = (1/4) ==> Decrease is going to be (1/5) This is also consistent with the decrease in time taken from t to (4/5)t. Since Distance is constant ==> S*T = Constant. (5/4*T)*(new-time) = S*T new-time = (4/5)T.
