G1 Prowl always has a special place in my spark, but I will never forget Animated Prowl. I'd love to see the treacherous IDW Prowl have a battle against Animated Prowl, as that alone would be a spectacular story.

Growing up, I was the kid in class that said "I want to be a policeman." My aunt was blazing trails in DC Metro, so she was my motivation. I ended up with great respect for police, fire, and EMS. I went on to serve as military police before joining local LE. As such, most of my favorite toys and media involved them. Case and point; C.O.P.S. was my favorite cartoon, Prowl and Ratchet were my favorite Autobots, the Protectobots were my favorite team, Law and Lifeline were my favorite GI Joes, etc. I have owned every incarnation of Prowl, Ratchet, Red Alert, Inferno, the Protectobots, and every other police, fire, and EMS themed Transformer and GI Joe to release domestically.

You know you're in danger when Prowl's angry. Especially if you're a table.

Prowl is such a fascinating Autobot especially the Animated Incarnation so I'm glad that you did a Retrospective on him.

TFA Prowl was one of the first versions of Prowl that I saw and loved. His story arc and his ninja skills made him a standout for me and I loved how he and Jazz interacted. So I was heartbroken when he died fr😭. Since then I've just enjoyed any version of Prowl but I legit still don't know how g1 Prowl captivated me so much despite having little appearances in the show. His design is so reminiscent of the Super Robot Genre of the time that I grew up with, especially his striking red Chevron that pops out. Michael Bell's cool and smooth voice fitted very much to Prowl's personality given in the bios. I guess that's the magic of g1 fr. No matter how small of appearance a character makes, it will be someone's favorite. Prowl is just one of those characters that needs to make more frequent appearances along with Jazz in media fr. He'll always be SiC if the Autobots for me

If the original 1984 G1 Autobots were dog breeds, Prowl would be the Border Collie. Intelligent and fast learning, but reserved and needs mental stimulation.

When it comes to the toys, you can’t go wrong with the Datsun brothers. 👍🏼 Always wanted the original G1 toy as a kid during my childhood.

Been waiting forever for this! Prowl will always be one of my top five favorite Transformers. A SIC like him just can't be beat in personality (well, unless it's G1).

Prowl was my favorite Autobot from the original cartoon...I was mad when he got killed off within ten minutes in the animated movie. Interesting Prowl and Quackerjack were both voiced by Michael Bell,since they had such different personalities.

Having him around must've been very helpful in avoiding traffic on any missions they drove to.

I do hope, if they do make an origin story, that they don't make it as simple as "The Quintessons built the Cybertronians and the military bots became the Decepticons and the servant class became the Autobots." I'd always think the cars with the rockets on the shoulders should have been military class cybertronians and Autobots like Prowl were Cybertronians who were built for military but believed in the rights of sentient life to build their own destiny. Then this origin story could be about the Cybertronians choosing sides.

I love Prowl! I may be late to this retrospective but it was a fun one! Prowl was always a cool Transformers character! Obscure for not being in the live action films, I love him thanks to the shows. I love the G1 and Animated versions of the character, Animated Prowl I’m glad got a Legacy version! Energon Prowl should’ve been named Mirage instead but you know how Hasbro had their name trademark issue at the time. The fact that his face was the inspiration for the Autobot symbol makes him such an important character in the franchise!

My favourite transformer as a kid and I own 6 different figures of him. Had to see him get done dirty on the big screen as a child but I still adore the 1986 movie and wouldn't have it any other way.

Prowl G1 was one of G1 toys I wanted to have as a kid. When I first watched The Transformers The Movie on VHS, Prowl's death scene at 5:57 scared the hell out of me that I used to skip that scene every time I rewatched the movie.

G1 was always my favorite version of Prowl, one of my fav autobots of all time. Always loved his design. I can't wait for his 86 lineup toy.

My first prowl was a mini sideswipe repaint. I miss that and the other toys I had those days never forgotten them been looking for them on ebay long as can find them. 😢

Great video. I must say, Prowl was one of the most aesthetically pleasing toys of the 80s. He was absolutely iconic on the G1 screen. No windowed/shelf display looks official without a Prowl figure on or in it. A top 5 Autobot of all time

Transformers Animated has one of my favorite versions of Prowl. I was stoked when I found out Hasbro was releasing a Animated Universe Prowl figure in the Legacy Evolution line.

My first introduction to transformers was RID 2001, Prowl was immediately my favorite. Than I got around to watching G1 and immediately loved his design, loved his Universe figure. Getting my hands on the original G1 Prowl's toy is a high holy grail figure for me.

Fantastic job as usual, Rodimus - my own personal favourite version of Prowl is the one found in the Marvel UK comics, and more specifically the brilliantly fun Earthforce stories in which Prowl is one of the main characters - his 'odd couple'-esque relationship with Grimlock is especially well-handled there, and I've always enjoyed that little dialogue he has with Wheeljack that you highlighted at 6.43, which sums up the 'back to basics' nature of those stories in hilarious fashion, and later carries on as follows below: Prowl: "...Should find the answer up here." Wheeljack: "Big deal! Probably some Microheadtargetmaster with a Pretender shell...!" (PS: Fingers crossed we'll get that Studio Series 86 toy of Prowl that you mentioned, yes...?).

G1 is my favorite and I was traumatized as a kid watching him die in the movie theater. Even more so when his remains were destroyed which meant no chance of returning to the cartoon.

Prowl is definitely another strong character in Transformers G1, it’s pretty cool he made some appearances such as G1, animated, and the War for Cybertron Netflix series. Plus his dynamic with his brother Bluestreak is amazing nonetheless. Definitely a fantastic character!

I really enjoyed your breakdown of The Orignal IDW version of Prowl has it felt very realistic as any officer 👮‍♀️ would slowly break under all that pressure of having plan, after plan for the faction they served. Plus he did redeem himself even if that meant going full blown vigilante

My introduction to prowl was the 86 movie.😅 But I’ve always liked his character and would have loved someone like Kevin Conroy to voice him. Usually I do an impersonation of his take on Batman and a lot of the time I get cast as him in fan projects.
