This is why I believe cyclonus is a combination of skywarp and bombshell, because cyclonus is incredibly loyal and intelligent. Skywarp brings the loyalty and bombshell brings the intelligence.

Skywarp is an idiot, but loyal. Bombshell is intelligent, but untrustworthy. Cyclonus took the best of each, and got rid of the worst of each at the same time.

I think he is just Skywarp, Cyclonus isn’t exactly smart, if he was, he wouldn’t follow Galvatron. Skywarp seems to be more thuggish than Starscream, but less so than Thundercracker. He is also more loyal than the other two seekers. His thuggishness has gone, but he maintains his loyalty to his leader. Despite the movie clearly showing bombshell turning into Cyclonus, Cyclonus has zero personality traits with Bombshell. His colour scheme also suits Skywarp.

Skywarp is definitely my favorite decepticon. Mainly because despite him being a jerk and prankster, he's very loyal. Plus, black and purple goes well together.

Despite Skywarp's flaws, he would be a pretty strong counter point to Mirage. That is if they used his teleportation or even a cloaking ability. Also, make him a bit less reliant on being Megatron's lacky. I do love his color scheme over the OG one planned for the toy.

Fun fact: Skywarp appears in the 2019 IDW Transformers continuity. Unfortunately, thanks to his teleportation powers, he's stuck in-between dimensions.

Would have liked to have seen more Skywarp and Thundercracker. Always felt that the Decepticons lacked characters because all of the storylines were dominated by Megatron and Starscream.

The reason why Skywarp and Thundercracker were not in TFP is because they were eaten by the Sharkticons in the novel exodus, Skywarp was way brutal because starscream was jealous and planted a bomb then told Skywarp to take it somewhere without him knowing. It blew up but he wasn't dead yet although he was too weak to defend himself, I think a sharkticon found him and... well you know the rest.

Skywarp: "D-uh! What should I do, boss?" Megs: "Follow the trail, DUMMY!" Megs calling out his boy's abject stupidity had me laughing out loud every time I saw that episode! If Starscream, Soundwave, or Reflector had woken up first in episode one, they might have taken time to survey their surroundings and THEN decide on a course of action. The fact that Skywarp IMMEDIATELY woke up Megatron showed his loyalty, yes, but it also unwittingly showed his denseness and lack of drive in that he couldn't function without Meg's direct instruction. Still, I loved 'Warp's complete loyalty to Megatron and the 'Con cause and his best friendship with Thundercracker. Even bad guys need pals! Thanks much, Rodimus! Hope you had a Happy Indy Day!

Interesting tidbit: For the Hasbro masterpiece release, Skywarp's weakness was changed from stupidity to laziness. Not sure why this was but I don't think it ever happened again

Can you imagine if Dreadwing and Skyquake were just called Thundercracker and Skywarp in TF Prime? Brute versions of Thundercracker and Skywarp that Starscream has to backstab to become the Seeker captain? Prime pays tribute to so many things, but of course, there are lots of missed opportunities too. I'm just glad that the design team still included deep cuts like Skywarp's original olive green design. Similarly, Wheeljack, Sky Linx, and Predaking are almost complete misrepresentations of those iconic G1 characters, but the designers added nods to their G1 designs to make up for it.

It's too bad he wasn't smarter because he has great abilities. I'd love to see more games like Transformers Devastation, but this time with both sides being playable and featuring online combat both co-op and team vs team battles. I love the idea of getting to play the various miniseries and stories of the G1 series.

Skywarp (as well as Starscream and Thundercracker) are my absolute fav's among the Transformers. I would love to see a spotlight or comic mini-series about the Seekers someday. I would also be very happy if the Seekers could be seen more in TV series and / or films. The same applies to the other Seekers a la Acid Storm, Sunstorm, Red Wing, Slipstream, the Rainmakers etc (but please, no gender swaping...instead they should invent new characters).

Skywarp/Thundercracker definitely became Cyclonus/Scourge. Nothing else really makes sense. Pity that IMO, the new characters are pretty lame compared to the originals so kind of doesn't matter who became them.

I absolutely loved the seekers in G1, they were my favourite. Thundercracker was a blue jet, so he got first billing, SKywarp was a close second. Loved him!

Probably my second favorite seeker (my favorite is Thundercracker.) I always loved his prankster persona, I wish we saw more of the 3 seekers together as a team outside of the comics. Also his coloration is awesome. Purple and black goes together perfectly.

A not-too-bad Decepticon character I wish they'd developed better, it would have been interesting to see him become less of a dim-wit and more savvy over the course of the series but never loose his prankster quirk either! I too think he had a cool color scheme and a neat ability.

It makes perfect sense that Skywarp is Cyclonus. Other than being a jet, Cyclonus was loyal just as Skywarp. The great part was that Unicron's power made him clever and intriguing as the second in command as Cyclonus.

The great Skywarp! Always loved his colors and personality. I never really saw him as a true dolt, but a malicious bully. I'm glad that he's received more prominence in the more recent idw series.

I always loved Skywarp, I remember I had Gears as my first transforners toy and didnt do much with him. Then I vividly remember my dad coming home from work as a truck mechanic, stinking dirty and his stomach was huge. I asked what was there and he laughed and said hed eaten too many burgers I patted his stomach and he handed me skywarp. I was about 4 or 5 and am 43 now and still remember it fondly. I still have my transformers and all my other toys in my attic. Dad is still kicking around as well thank god.

Skywarp aka my favorite seeker I love skywarp’s Color scheme, his personality and his teleportation powers and as well his role idw skywarp all has special place in my heart as he alongside Wheeljack was the character remember the most as a kid. And yes skywarp deserves more I would love to see do some amazing stuff as well as pranking his fallow decepticons. And remember “strike when enemy isn’t looking “ * teleports away*

I was never a fan of Skywarp, but the teleporting thing he did is cool though, and in my opinion he became cyclonus in the Transformers 1986 movie.

One of my favorite characters, unfortunately in the show the dialogue for the Decepticons seemed to just focus on Megatron and Starscream and I feel the lesser characters like Thundercracker got insufficient lines. I am hopeful that with this being 35 years since the original movie was made a series 2.5 could be made for say the 40th anniversary where events take place between the end of BOT and the start of Five Faces of Darkness, where Skywarp could be involved. But I would really like a series set in the early stages of the war 9M years ago where the named seeker jets could get prominent roles.

I think he is my fave seeker. The stealth thing should be his main gimmick for getting past base defences with high security: Just warp past them! Then stab that pesky ultra magnus in the back like an assassin. Then warp out of there.

I love how Cyberverse Shockwave would always comment on how the Seekers couldn’t accomplish anything unfortunately due to their low intelligence!🤣 I just love how matter of fact he is. I do like Skywarps adaptation in the books even tho he meets a horrible end. I hope he is in future live action movies!

Skywarp was the lucky one, he was revived first by the Ark. Had he been reassembled last he might have wound up a volks wagon bug, Primus forbid. I know all about the debate of Cyclonus being remade from Bombshell or Skywarp, I'm gonna say it... it was Skywarp because of his loyalty to megatron and Cyclonus is likewise loyal to Galvatron!

He's one of my favorite's too. I do however disagree with one thing. I never thought he was particularly dim or stupid, at least not enough to define his personality. There are probably smarter warriors out there, but I always identified sky warp by his loyalty to the decepticons, deception against the autobots, effectiveness in battle, and his sarcastic & sadistic sense of humor.

there was a comic in 2001 called transformers the wreckers who is set during beast machines and were they show skywarp along with cyclonus and cyclonus confirms that he is bombshell and skywarp was part of his armada before reformating himself back into skywarp

Only in that continuity, which was meant to promote the Botcon Cyclonus toy. Japanese continuity goes with Skywarp and he even regains that teleport ability. Flint Dille also trumps the 3H comics.

@@RodimusPrimal Yeah but i really like the 3h and fun publication comics . The concept of time travel and the multiverse trought the universal clusters was one of my favorite things , and the stories were really awesome its a shame that we don't get some of that anymore .

@@RodimusPrimal And also during the end of armada, there was and alternative sequel but instead they descarted it in favor of tf energon, it was called transformers super cross were many characters from g1 and other tf universes would be transported to the armada universe inside unicron after his defeat in armada. And they would get the energon upgrades so that they would become violent and fight in arenas inside unicron while he feeds of theirs hatred and finally their sparks , there is even a script and concept art for various versions of optimus prime and it was planned to have four seasons , but this story was dropped but later it got reporpused in the transformers universe comics , were the events of unicron kidnapping transformers would have happen but in the g1 cartoon universe a fell months after the end of beast machines .

Regarding Skywarp's appearance in G2, I always assumed most of the 'bots and 'cons had been repaired by then, after all, Goldbug was far more visibly damaged by Starscream, and he was reactivated (with a little help from a pretender shell)
