I hear that there are two guys in the neighborhood who don't like Rodney. One's building a pair of F-16s controlled by one transmitter and the other's building an MD-500.

@@unusualaquariumecosystems5805 It's just there for aesthetics. The helicopter Blue Thunder was made from was a Aérospatiale Gazelle, which didn't have them.

I actually worked on the TV Show. The Helicopters were awesome. Unfortunately, never flew in one.

Very nice maiden flight! Congrats! I love the turbine sound. The machine looks very responsive on cyclic inputs! Must be a big joy to fly it! Many happy flights!

Pilot is probably not so skilled. Even for a maiden, hover orientation shouldn't matter.

Sweet looking heli. I know a lot of time went into it. Looks like the tail needs a bit of tweaking on the gyro. It is hunting a little, but not horrible. Now all you need is whisper mode! haha Follow my leader!

And even the start-up with turbine first and only then engaging the rotor system is as the original Gazelle, on which Blue Thunder was based on! Bravo 👍 Now it only takes to step up and do integrate the silent mode.

I bet flying this over a unsuspecting neighborhood would scare them sh|tless and at a far enough distance make it seem like a real heli sized rc copter! Dam this is so cool. But very difficult to obtain, build and finance overall. I've seen a few that ran with batteries and some with actual petrol. Is there any significant difference between that? Are batteries more viable?
