Theres a Tumblr post about somebody having DirectTV and the screen freezing for 5 hours on the specific frame where Spongebob lay facedown in the Sea Urchin epsiode, and it froze on ONLY Nickelodeon. So the kid and his brother just thought Spongebob had died. I know youre busy but man, your spin on that could be incredible if you ever got time.

I love how this uses stock smiles and stuff that barely fits onto the character models to look unnerving. It really does give off the feel like this is a hijacker in the 2000s with a limited budget who is trying their best to make their hijacking unnerving with the limited stuff they have.

This hits me back to my deepest earliest memories when: 1. 0:32 is the DirectTV UI, we used to have that as our cable company. 2. I remember seeing those Sketchers, Moonsand (or another sand related product), and Eggos commercials back in the day. 3. I think we had that scrolling text at 4:12 squashing the video from below. 4. 4:35 we hear those beeps every 2 minutes in a trip to Mexico before the TV cuts to another commercial interrupting the one playing, different place and TV but whatever. 5. 1:44 I actually had a cut-off audio glitch just like that (A!) with the ending of the SpongeBob episode “The Donut of Shame” at the time it was new or I’ve first seen it. (Some post-movie episodes are older than I thought?) Strangely it didn’t flicker to a part of the ending’s audio, it flickered to a voice that sounded like Plankton… This video might have been a nightmare I could have had as a kid and you have dug it out from my memories.
