Rodrygo Goes is no longer an option for Real Madrid for the upcoming clasico as he was shown a second yellow card during a Real Madrid Castilla game on Sunday for taunting the opposite goalkeeper.

He should have known. He joined the first team last summer. And he has made 12 appearances for the first team already. They just moved him down because they couldn't find playtime for him. But he should know that he could get called up anytime.

I actually saw the game. He was fouled a lot. Not hard tackles, but constant and disruptive. It was obviously a tactical instruction from the opposing team's coach. He lost his temper a couple of times and got into stupid fights (nothing too serious, though) with a couple of defenders (that got him a yellow card). And then he scored this goal (minute 89 or something like that) and secured the victory for the B team. The thing was that a player from the other team was on the ground (no foul that I could see, maybe cramps or something), but he got the ball, ran with it and scored. The ref allowed the game to continue, he didn't stop the game at all. The goalie told him that there was another player on the ground and that he should have stopped. He celebrated in his face and got another yellow card for disrespecting another player. Understandable, but a bit childish in my view. I'm sure Raúl told him he made a mistake there. He'll learn. The problem is that getting that red card prevents him from playing against Barcelona in El Clásico. Too bad.

Raul probably told him the mistake was not immediately walking away after the goal. Not sure the competitor in Raul would have told him to stop.

Practice. He couldn't find play time in the A team. So instead of letting him get rusty on the bench, they send him down to get playtime.

From what I read (I didn't see the game), here's what I gathered... 1-.Somebody (don't know from which team) got an accidental elbow to the face. 2- Everyone stopped playing because it was quite obvious (which explains why no one from Rodrygo's team was running with him). 3-Rodrigo gets the ball, somehow, and keeps playing 4-Rodrigo scores 5-Keeper told Rodrygo that someone got an elbow to the face and he should have thrown the ball out 6-Rodrygo doesn't care and celebrate in his face, showing no remorse

roberto5red5rocky in general when that happens the team that got scored on rush whoever scored and push/shove him quite hard. It usually start quite melee between the two teams. The player who scored usually runs back to his side and says nothing. Deep indeed they know they did something that is be frown upon. In the past the team who scored often let the other team score as well after the game restart. Anyhow I don’t mind rodrygo scoring. Not a fan of killing the ball out but he should not have celebrated. That’s where he screwed up.

@@roberto5red5rocky85 fuck remorse. Its professional, competitive ball. Goalkeeper should know, "you play till you hear a whistle". Referees have to make a name for themselves too, to be more known and considered for higher division games. I think he saw an opportunity to have LA LIGA look his way with a controversial booking on a star player, and he took his shot.

roberto5red5rocky the issue isn’t so much the celebration (though that’s what made it worst) The issue is the fact he kept playing when everyone else stopped. It’s an unwritten rule you kick the ball out when someone is hurt (specially if the player isnt faking). It’s a dumb “rule” and the ref or the other team should get the ball back and kick it out themselves but it’s a “rule” respected by most. So if someone choose not to respect that rule it’s fine but they should expect some push back from the other players. They definitely can’t start to gloat in front of the other team. I would bet his teammates and coach told him not to do that again.

Not sure about the ref, but it was a joke call to put all the blame on him, unfortunately many times in football the initial aggressor doesn't get punished, it's only the one who reacts, which is a joke. Keeper was unhappy cause he scored, I guess, and made the point in his face, but Rodrygo is punished cause he verbally retaliated. Hope RM managers made this point to referee's after the match because it's very unequal.

It's Real Madrid's B team. It's for players that are not good enough for the A team or for the A Team's bench. Usually it's for young player. The team plays in lower divisions. In this case, Rodrygo couldn't get play time in the senior squad so they sent him down there for practice.

Big clubs like Real Madrid have the money to sign hundreds of players. But there is a limit on how many they put on the field. So the extra players are put in the B and C teams. The Spanish league allows B and C teams to compete in the league, but not the same division (For example, C team cannot be promote to a division that the B team is in even if C team win their division). So Real Madrid and Barca let their B play in lower divisions. (Messi played in the C team for a year before he got promoted to B team for a year and eventually called up to the A team. Iniesta and Xavi also started in the B team when they were young as well). In this case, Rodrygo joined RM last summer. He played 12 games in the first division already but couldn't find playtime lately. So RM sent him to the B team to get practice and not get rusty.
