I raced an RM400 for my local Suzuki dealer in 1978. It also had the Thor swingarm and MX Fox air shox ( which had to be maintained diligently ). Unlike most MX bikes back in the day, it took an extra measure of training to stay in the saddle of this beast, as the torque was arm stretching. Many happy rides and many podiums...

Sounds a lot like my 1977 can am 175 mx 3 that thought it was a 250. That thing was a Beast , 30 hp @either 3,000, or 3,200 rpm, I think the 250 had 32 hp?, my stats might not be to accurate. But it was hard to handle. Fun pulling a hole shot though. 🤪

I had a 76 ,370 bought it after it was raced one winter in Florida. It was so fast. Better have your riding boots on when you go to start it up. If it kicks back if it doesn’t throw you over the bars the kick start arm will go up your shin . Still have the dents in my shin. Ride a wheelie when ever you want. Love the sound of it. This tank is not compressed in from knees trying to not fall off. Great score Ken. Great memories. Don’t miss the broken bones but miss the adrenaline rush you get when you come back and nothing broken, not the bike but you. Merry Christmas Everyone.

I purchased a 1976 RM370 at a garage sale as a basket case rolling chassis. I restored it in 2001. Suzuki still had almost all the parts still available. I sold it for 3,500 dollars. I wish I had kept it. I will say I almost looped it out lol It was a real fire breather!!!!

In 1976 I was 16 years old, and I got my Dad to buy me a 1976 Suzuki RM 100 2 stroke, with the down pipe and dual shocks on the back. It cost $800, and it was so fast it beat the same year Kawasaki KX 125 my friend had. And I weighed about 30 lbs. more than he did, and that little RM 100 would still beat his KX 125 in a drag race.

Thats a nice one, and someone did a good job with the mods but there isn’t a production bike from back then that is anything close to the actual works bikes. Most don’t share more than two or three parts with the production model. Especially Rogers bikes.

If I was a millionaire all of them would be mine, I saw Joel Robert’s and Rodger Decoster on the 250’s at the 71 GP at Saddleback, Adolf Weil on his Maico led the first few laps, Robert did a cross-up directly in front of me that burned my mind like a laser😳 the following week was the 500 GP at Carlsbad, Bruce Brown was filming “zoom Any Sunday”, at Sadfleback and Carlsbad. I was in the movie as a spectator🥰♥️📡‼️👍

Ken remember the first Craigslist a mag called buy n Sell cost you 1.00 you could advertise for free. I bought 370 for 100.00 back then. Bike been outside years. Bald back tire hooked sprocket fork seals gone. Started didn't run very well dirty carb. Took it through the gears. Paid the $ took it home week later I clean the carb. Didn't do anything else. We're I was living at that time. Rent a 20 acre farm 150' gravel driveway to the main road. I flipped it in 2nd gear going down it it's first run. I've owned few bikes not as many as you. For what it was unrestored claped It was one of the fastest bikes I ever owned. Too bad the steering head had problem's of going right while the rest of the bike went left. Usually after a long downhill jump.

I rode one of these that was in great shape, at the time i owned an 83 rm500 and i actually think the 370 was quicker atleast it felt that way, i also rode an 81 cr450 and that definitely was quicker than my rm500. The rm500 was the slowest big bore bike i ever tried. I know of others that say theirs was a rocket but i owned one that ran like it should and it was no firecracker

Man that motor is extremely tight and I could barely hear any fins rattling, I f I had my eyes closed I would of guesed it was liquid cooled also air cooled.bikes don't seem to ever have the jetting spot on where's this thing is the CRISPYEST, SHARPEST Sounding exhaust note I EVER HEARD ON A CLASSIC 70S MX BIKE.... phenomenal.....the idle sounds so dialed in and I can imagine putting a Keihin air striker on her, although I can't imagine any carb getting the jetting better than what it is now....
