He is playing tennis for fun and pure passion. He is 40 years old, we are just treasuring every single time he steps on court instead of expecting him to win anymore titles. It is at great loss for the world when Federer leaves tennis and starts a new phase of his life and he knows it.

Novak is the best all court player, he has 2 slams on all 4 majors where as federer only has 1 roland garros title.

@@rezlem2507 An _all-court player_ refers to a player _who uses (and is comfortable on) the whole court_ for his tennis. Federer, since his arrival itself, has shown himself capable of playing tennis both within and behind the baseline as well as at the net. His natural talent and his maturation over the years have put the matter beyond doubt. Indeed, to but slightly exaggerate, the two-handed baseline backhand may be the _only_ tennis shot that Federer cannot hit (and hit beautifully). In your reply, you're thinking of "all-surface player". In that respect, the Djoker and the Fed are near equal, perhaps exactly equal even. Fed is, overall, the better fast (properly fast!) indoor player, but the Djoker's consistency makes him the better medium-fast outdoor player. So yes, the Fed's got just one RG to the Djoker's two and he's never beaten Nadal there (which the Djoker's done twice; with the second victory being especially sublime despite being a baseline slugfest) but that's partly because the Fed's never possessed a two-handed backhand and partly because he played a young Nadal who scampered around the court like a bloody hare. So while I don't want to discount the Djoker's clay credentials, I think the fact that their H2H on clay is 4-4 shows how evenly matched they are as "all-surface" players.

@@thesoccergod Federer isn't as comfortable at the baseline, and that explains why he failed to win RG more than once. In fact, his only RG title came without facing Rafa. His baselinge game struggled in comparison to Nadal's and Djokovic's ones. Clay is the surface less serve-dependant as it neutralizes to a large degree the serve as a weapon. Subsequently, clay rewards baseline game. The most all-court player is Djokovic, with the Double Career Grand Slam.
