This match was a masterpiece final by Roger. Murray had his revenge at the Olympics and was sublime.

Yeah and they're not messing around playing endless 20-50 shot rallies like I saw Yesterday with Medvedev vs Zverev. Players today are playing low risk tennis compared to Federer's early days. Ostapenko's A Game is more exciting then Medvedev.

It's an amazing inside out dropshot but the best ? There are many shots that are at least as impressive as this.
Watching Federer backhand makes me want to play like that. I can hit two backhands like this at most in a match. What a sweet stroke to watch

Roger went to the T in 2012. In 2019 his serve went in Novak's forehand. Had it spun away from Novak (a slice serve down the T at 116mph), Roger would have ended the match with an unreturned serve or an ace.

@noorangadsingh17469 ай бұрын
I think the passing shot being long here can also be down to the difference in the power of the 2 forehand approach shots ..... fed played unbelievable in the final but there was clearly a dip in the power of his fh. Also , as this final was played under a closed roof , the conditions were faster than in 2019 and hence such fast full power forehands were difficult to return with precision.

Rogers striking was so clean and attacking here. But I think he lost a touch of quickness after 2014, which forced him to play more reactively with defense, as there were fewer attacking opportunities to dictate points. Notice how he played these Set & Break points, compared to the many he let get away from him vs Novak @USO15 and Wimb's. I recall it being something like 3 of 27 on Break Pts vs Novak. Yet he still pushed close 4th set. So it's not that Roger was a *totally* different player in '12 vs '19, but he lost that little bit of edge that was allowing him to play his game at full capacity. But he sure did well after this wimb final . Only 7 Major Finals and 3 Major Titles - HOF numbers even in the final block of his. 🐐🇨🇭

Buongiorno
@KasusEpykMusykII2 күн бұрын

Buonanotte.
