"He beat me by me not coming out...if I came out, he would never beat me, but since I didn't come out for the 12th round, that's how he beat me...I remember that moment every motherf*ckin day of my life...that's the thing that f*cked with me too because I didn't come out...that moment, in a sense, it changed my career," stated world-class trainer Roger Mayweather, who looked back on his clash with all-time great Julio Cesar Chavez, his only regret in boxing, and how it changed him and his career. Check it out!

Julio took nearly double the amount of shots against Taylor and Julio was for the most part unscathed after that fight, but look at the state of Taylor by the end of it. He was remarkable, Id have to have in my top 3 of all time. Roger was right about Julio, he had some chin.

Roger Mayweather was a great boxer. But what in the world makes him think he was beating up Chavez? In the first fight, Chavez knocked him out in 2 rounds. In the second fight, he was able to maintain Chavez on the outside with his jab for the first four rounds. But after that, Chavez started getting through his jab and began to break down his body, his head, and his will. He never hurt Chavez or was even beating him up. Chavez was the one who was killing him with the body shots an then with the head shots. Also, Mayweaher should just admit that he didn't come out to fight the 11th round because he couldn't take any more of the beating Chavez was giving him. It's plain and simple. And I'm not a hater or biased, I'm just speaking the truth.
@johnniea4684
@johnniea4684 9 жыл бұрын
Ramiro Guerrero You speak the truth. Very rare to see a good fighter who'll admit that ANY of his losses were legit! Roger got blown away in their first fight, although give him his props he visibly wobbled Chavez early in the second round with a great shot that caught him above the ear iirc. Second time around Mayweather knew how good Chavez was and was a lot stronger at 140. It was a good fight and he definitely got Chavez' attention with some big shots but he got ground down and couldn't take anymore. His memory is off also, as like you say he only completed 10 rounds. Watched the fight again last week and it was closer than I remembered though Chavez was definitely at least a couple of rounds up and Roger was struggling to get off meaningful punches the last couple of rounds as his body was shutting down. Boxrec doesn't have the scores after 10 although from what I recall at the time I think JCC was up something like 88-83.

My respects for Roger Mayweather. But he clearly was losing that fight against Chavez at the Inglewood Forum. He couldn't come out after the 10th round, not the 11th like he says. Roger Mayweather was totally delusional during this interview. May he rest in peace 🙏🏾.

Rog, why DIDN'T you come out? B/c he BEAT you into submission. The fight was 12 rounds, with a goal of stopping your man, the only reason we go to scorecards is when one of the fighters doesn't get their job done, which is to get the KO. He admits it to an extent, but he just can't deal with the blow to his ego that in his mind he feels he was the better boxer, but JCC is the one and only reason he didn't come out for the 12th round.

+Raul Sanchez I heard he was fighting Mexican cab drivers to get up to that number. Even Mayweather Sr. said Rocky Marciano fought bums and his only note worthy fight was against Joe Luis and he was an old man by that time.

Who was this? O wait he’s Floyd mayweathers uncle. Everybody thinks he was good all because he’s last name. They only talk about this man because of he’s nephew. Another no name that Chavez beat.

"I already whipping his ass! You see that, don't you?!?" Sorry "Uncle Raj" but you weren't "whipping" Chavez in either fight. Very-very few if any fighter could match the pace of that 16-round-version of Chavez.. Accordingly, he was WHIPPING your ass in both fights prior to the KO and you quitting on your stool. If only Mayweather had not been KTFO in the first bout or came out for the final round of the rematch he would've won both (🙄)?!
