I miss Roger Miller. I miss people with clever lyrics, on key vocals, and great instrumentals.

A few days ago I stopped in to a coffee shop to get some coffee for friends. The name tag for one of the girls said her name was Fleurencia. I thanked her, by name, and she said something I couldn't catch. Eventually it came out, 'You are the first person that knew how to pronounce my name.' That is sad, such a beautiful girl--and name to match. 'Well how else would you pronounce it?' I wondered. I gave her the thumbs up for her pig tails? pony tails? took my coffees and left. That's all there is. I was glad I could pronounce her name. Rock on, brothers and sisters, Rock on !!

He died in 92 of cancer so I"m glad he at least had some fun here. He wrote the songs for a musical called Big River.

Man was equally talented musically and funny…always was. That joke about the lady at the gas station & the hose made really me lol fr..and the one old lady completely straight faced like she didn’t appreciate his (probably back then considered half-racy among some) humor one bit really made it.

Well, I have a big nose, too, but it doesn't necessarily translate into having big feet...if you get the crude direction I'm coming from. I'll throw myself under the bus if it means getting a laugh...or not. Well, we know for a fact that he had a big band.

The Cheech and Chong wannabe schtick was a bit rough, otherwise what a great show! Great history here.
