Like you Roger, I have been fishing for a very large part of my life and never get tired of learning new things. I have said it before about your videos Roger and that is they are so instructional and you are happy to share rigs, bait and techniques. They are in real time and definitely not like others which seem to lapse into the old….”sit back and watch me catch fish”……thanks for sharing Roger.

Watching from Canada and was beach fishing in NSW last Feb while visiting my son, your bad day catching whitings would have been a fanatastic day for me while i fished. Only caught something around South West Rocks when i fished as we drove up to the Gold Coast and I don't know what they were, not whitings or salmon, We threw them back. Always enjoy your videos. I'm heading back next Feb for another visit and to try fishing again using what I have learned from watching your videos!

Hi Patrick try googling Australian fish species in salt water , should get a picture of your fish to identify , many species im sure your aware of , if your ever back here fishing in Australia you will have better knowledge of what you catch , some fishermen put back in the water very edible fish but they might not like that type of fish , nothing wrong with it just personal taste really to each person in what fish they like to eat.,glad you enjoy your time fishing in ozz , happy fishing. Tight lines as they say here. 👍

@@fishmut I looked up species that we may have caught and one was diamond fish i'm pretty sure about 10 " long and the other was some sort of wrasses with green stripes going from its head horizontal to the gills and then vertically along its body. that one was about 5" long . Then a few small flat ray types. Now after watching these videos I plan to do a better job fishing next trip in feb 25 !

I watch a lot of your videos Roger. As you show you are on pristine beaches with hardly a person in sight. I fish a lot at Maroubra & get across to Wanda now & then & we have not had many fish there for a good year now. I don’t mind a road trip to a nice beach. It’s not like you are going to get hundreds of fishermen joining you if you tell us the name of the beaches you fish at.

I love this, and all the other videos you have done. Thanks Rogers. As a man who has never lived near water, nor had any real exposure or opportunity to fish - I look forward to move to the coast and start enjoying some fishing when I retire (soonish). Not having anyone at all to teach me about fishing I have enjoyed your mentoring and absorbing the enthusiasm for fishing that you demonstrate in your videos. I have some video topic suggestions in case you need some video ideas. Being a complete fishing noob, and a little OCD, the suggestions are peripheral subjects rather than planning, catching bait, and fishing techniques (which are topics that you are already covering nicely - thank you so much). I am interested in your experience in some areas that you have covered partly in your many videos, but not in a targetted way. These could be a series of videos or shorts: - rod + tackle handling, storage, transport, loading line, care and maintenance (especially reel maintenence, and how to keep equipment in the best condition for use when in saltwater envs) - how to handle, dehook, dispatch, and bleed various common fish species found on the eastern seaboard (what equipment should be at hand, what are the key dangers) - best preparation, gutting?, treatment, storage of fish to ensure they arrive home in the best condition for eating etc. - best advice and safety when fishing from a boat, fishing ettiquete when fishing with friends or around other fishermen, off break walls, wharfs, off a boat. etc. - more fish filleting technique and / or cooking recipe videos to get the most from a catch - fishing gear equipment comparison, reviews of new and homemade equipment - testing and comparing the performance of diferent hook types and sizes in various conditions (such as the circle hook), and how does the rig and fishing technique need to change). - trip videos where you travel to a different location, or you cover your activities on a fishing trip weekend. Feel free to ignore the suggestions - you are doing a great job without them. The bigger message is my thanks.

Hi Rodger, love the videos, very helpful and educational. Wonder if you could do one on the way you kill, keep and prepare your catch. I.E. what needs bleeding, how to dispatch quickly and humanely, how do you store the fish you intend to keep while still fishing (ice slurry?), gutting etc. Would be great to see a vid with that info.

Another good video, pity about the wind. It never occurred to me to walk out on a sand spit at the end of a gutter. Thank you!!. I like the circle where the bait lands. I have eye strain trying to see where the cast landed. Well done. Is your move completed. Regarding NSW beaches, Queenslanders talk about their beaches but right from the NSW border south are so many smaller beaches with a headland at each end. One day My wife and I are going to do a tour from Lakes Entrance to the Tweed dropping into many or all of the beaches along the way. I would like to see overseas commenters tell us where they are, just as an interest.

Another great video Roger. I think all of those holes/gutters you fished in the middle of the day on the turning tide would/should have fired up a bit that evening on the high (some ok structure). To me structure has the biggest impact, even more so than what bait you’re using, on how successful you are. I find that no structure = no, or very few fish, sure if you’re using primo bait like live worms you might pick up the odd stray. Up my way (Ballina) all through 2021-22 and to Mar 23 the beach structure was fantastic, and the beach fishing, phenomenal. Then until January this year the structure was poor (just endless sand and sand backs) correspondingly the fishing was terrible. The beach structure has been on the improve since then and the fishing is improving along with it - happy days 😀 Cheers 👍🏻
