Step 1. Surface the spoliboard, even if the spindle is NOT vertical. Step 2. Place a thick (not temperetd!) glass plate under the spindle (obviously granite is much better). Step 3. tram and square the spindle over the plate surface. Step 4. Surface the spoilboard again. NOTE: after the step 1 the surface will not be locally flat. But it will be on the "average". A glass/granite plate placed over it will be perfectly flat.

Yes you can do it thay way, but I dont.
