Rogue One and Andor are the only good things to come out of Disney Star Wars. And I can only think the reason behind that was because Rogue One was already in development prior to the Disney takeover (correct me if I am wrong) and then they saw how well it did, then greenlit Andor to coast on that wave.

@@furiouskaiser9914 agreed, but what about first 2 seasons of Mando? Also unpopular opinion, I think the Solo was alright. It has some dumb parts and yeah it's a story we didn't need to see as well as a lot of explaining things that didn't need explaining. I get all of that, but over all is was okay. I think they set it up for an interesting crime story with Darth maul under the empire's rule that is somewhat detached from the main Skywalker story line.

Yeah i agree, i enjoyed this movie. I also was excited to see side story movies. This movie gave me hope they would continue and get better. I think my excitement was mostly about expanding the universe around the original and precal movies. Show us a heros journey that isn't about the Skywalkers or even Jedi.

Ya, Finn, in the sequels, had such a cool concept to explore as a stormtrooper defector, and then they fucking made him an inconsistent background clown.

@@furiouskaiser9914 yeah true, they introduced what could have been a compelling side story with in the main movie. That being the Finn vs Captain phasma story. They could have built out that story across the trilogy concluding with a big final show down in episode 9. This would have also helped tie all three movies together and supplement Rey's journey. But also have 2 strong leads one being female and the other male. The rey will remain the Jedi main lead, but Finn is the non Jedi second lead. This would have made for a much better overall story too.

Rogue One was really good, and the ONLY Disney Star Wars movie I liked. Disney pushed a lot of diversity in the cast, but I didn't care because the characters were interesting and so was the story. Rogue One paid respect to the original franchise, and actually enhanced it. The Sequels crapped all over Luke Skywalker and dialed Han Solo back to a broke loser and smuggler. The Sequels dialed the entire franchise back to an Empire, rebels, and ANOTHER Death Star. No new story, and Disney just made up things as they went along.

@MaBer-67391 thanks for the comment and I totally agree. It doesn't matter how diverse your cast. It's how good the story is (shameless plug but I'm gonna make a video on this topic today). Luke was my absolute hero and role model. I watched the originals on VHS before the prequels so was always attatched to him more than any other characters even though the originals came out before I was born. He's who I looked up to and admired. I can't say enough things about the character of Luke. What they did to his character was so detached, misguided, and just stupid.

Rogue one would have been a lot better but the studio interfered with the director’s vision forcing him to do major reshoots. This is why there are so many shots in the trailer that aren’t in the movie. It’s definitely the best that disney has made, but that’s not really saying much. Rogue one is still a rushed story filled with plot holes and weak character development- it gets worse every time you watch it, and that’s because disney interfered with the director’s vision, which I can almost guarantee would have been a much better film.
