Waiting till 22 will make this way easier with vanish/distract, you also probably want to respec into 5 points in stealth level in the Sub Tree if your a low level.
I hate editing, also I'm dyslexic I'm sure I messed up at least one sentence in the text mb lol

insanely helpful, every other video is literally just discussing whether the rune is viable or not and doesn' t actualy talk about how to get it, this will blow up for sure

Just did this without distract at lvl 21. i died twice but i got the key's needed. the door stays open so you can keep on trying as many times as you want. After you hand in the quest at the chest, fly to a major city. You will then get the next mail and you can go back to the hut to get your rune. happy hunting :)

Thanks! Did this at lvl 20 specced into Sub for stealth. Took a few deaths but it's doable.

If you have Vanish you do not need to go to Stonetalon. You can pull the switch in SFK then run into the cell with the npc and vanish. Then you can stealth around and collect keys/chest.

I completed it at lvl 20, but I respec'd into 5/5 Master of Deception, and 5/5 Camouflage in the Subtlety tree

If only it wasn't so punitive to die (GY at 1000yards) it would be a fun die & retry sequence for people wanting to try it at level 20. It's just a pain in the ass as of now.

You dont need to go all the way to stonetalon! just stealth to the first boss, press the lever and pop evasion and face tank the boss+adds, talk to the npc at the same time. Wait until he opens the door and release and run back inside = Door open ! I did this quest as a level 20 night elf, dont go inside of SFK without "master of deception" 5/5, you will aggro! Good luck!

That's exactly what I did, returned the Horn of Xelthos and didn't receive any follow-up or a rune. I guess we still need to do the stuff with the explosives from the goblin?

was wondering why I couldn't do this at 23 with improved sealth - if you have Touch of Zanzil it completely screws your sealth

did it at lvl 20 but respec 5 points into sub before you go into shadowfang cuz its impossible without it. respec only cost 10 silver now

So I'm 22 without respeccing. I pick pocketed the 1st npc, got discovered, sprint to the 2nd with evasion up, vanished at the 2nd and pick pocketed him. I died but I got em lol

soy lvl 21, me esta costando, recien tengo la primera llave, pero ya mori 15 veces, llevo 1 hora ESTUVE A PUNTO DE CONSEGUIR LA SEGUNDA, PERO ME ACERQUE DEMACIADO AL NPC!!! Dato curioso: En todo este tiempo podria haber subido al lvl 22 y conseguir la runa en el primer intento, pero saben que? mi orgullo es tan grande como el de un guerrero Saiayin!!!!!! LO VOY A LOGRAR A LVL 21 POR MIS HUEVOS LO LOGREEE !!!!!! al intento 15 sin talentos de sutileza, fue muy dificil, pero me dije a mi mismo "En este intento lo logro" y lo hice

If you are having a hard time doing this quest, make sure you don’t have TOUCH OF ZANZIL. It gives a stealth debuff.

23 rogue, deep combat. no bomb needed. Utilize Distract, Vanish and sprint if need be, take your time. GL Raven 621

Can you do this in a grp while youre doing SFK? Says "you must go alone" but i dont see why

I'm pretty sure it has to be done alone, it's my understanding that the two npcs you need to pickpocket don't spawn if someones in your group when you enter sfk. I know someone that entered sfk with someone in his party blew open the door and neither npc was there so he had to go back to stone talon and get another bomb.

I turned in the quest and don't have anything in my mailbox and wasn't able to learn the rune at the starting hut either. Anyways thanks for the help im hoping the mail will come in soon, I would've never been able to figure this out alone.

This is odd to me as i hearthed to thunderbluff almost instantly and had the mail in my mailbox, only thing I can think is that it has to do with me triggering a load screen. Sorry I can't be of more help

Do you have the 7 days debuff from the poison quest? If so, it gives you a HEAVY (if the 5 points in talents give +15 to stealth, this debuff gives -50) malus on stealth.

If you are low lvl like 20 , do not torture yourself and respec to Master of Deception and Camouflage 5 points, i did it from 1st try, easy...Only thing you need is to pay attention is for one mob male human ghost that is patroling around enterance to kitchen or whatever it is called at 4:25 When you see him moving away from enterance ,then it is time to get in.

I really recommend doing this at 22 with Vanish and Distract. It's very annoying without it. Can be done, but very annoying. I didnt have stealth talents tho

I tried to do this quest at 25 without the improved stealth talent and it didn't go well. I'd highly recommend respecing into sub before doing it

@@Moistcookie626 just did it on 22 without any problems. distract and vanish make such a big difference. no need to spec into sub imo. edit: btw..the door was closed again, i needed a new charge. good that i got back to stonetalon before.^^
