AEW had a match between Suzuki and Kingston some time ago, but it was over much too quickly, and I know Kingston wanted a better performance with Suzuki as a tribute to the latter. This was definitely it.

Probably trying not to be copyright-struck? Japan can be iffy about some of their music playing overseas. I remember certain NJPW themes being muted for “copyright reasons” for the English broadcasts of their shows. (There would even be a graphic that states that it’s for copyright reasons.) Oddly enough, Suzuki’s theme wasn’t one of the muted themes. Then again, I’m talking about NJPW broadcasts from Japan itself.

This is such a BAD ASS match, between two crazy pro wrestlers / legit (pancrase) brawlers: it is going to be a BANGER ! "No, he didn't steal my towel." - Taz on Suzuki's towel I like the Mad King's / Eddie Kingston's DMX-inspired entrance theme. Don't know if Suzuki can still drop kick, but only 3 or 4 years ago he still had one of the best looking and most convincing dropkicks I have ever seen. Especially, as that's not a move you would be expecting from this guy. Tony Khan has to get ROH back on regular TV. Make Rampage the ROH show. Should have happened over a year ago. I mean seriously, NWA just landed a big TV deal for next year and TK can't get ROH back on TV? Looking forward to Samoa Joe Vs. Willie Mack for the ROH TV title on Collision.

Sometimes I think that Eddie has TOO much respect for these japanese legends to the point of overselling their moves lol like that first chop and first elbow from Suzuki were really nothing, but Kingston sold them like death, he's supposed to be a tough guy so it should take a few shots to bring him down, but I think he just really wants those legends to look strong

Probably Suzuki's booking tbh. Nothing he does looks like it hurts anymore and he moves like the old man that he is, but everybody's still expected to be like "Come on, chop me" and then drop to their knees after getting chopped.

The Japanese ‘legends’ are getting up there in age and can’t really go like they used to, so it’s even more evident when they do their “you hit me, I hit you” spots… Honestly, I think Kingston should be more brawler fighter, and less Japanese chop-addict. I think his matches would be a LOT better, and for his New York madman attitude a bit more 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can we finally get Tom Lawlor and Team Filthy to premier in ROH? The one appearance by Tom and Royce Issacs back in June on Dynamite and nothing since. "Filthy Tom" is one of the best wrestlers in the world. Former MLW World Champion, former New-Japan Strong Openweight Champion. The rivalry he could have with Shibata over the ROH Pure title could be prolific. They have only wrestled once in Japan several months ago, but not for the Pure Championship. "Team Filthy" is an awesome faction.
