I have also heard a story about how Ai Yamatsuka tried to light a Molotov cocktail on fire when gasoline leaking from a bulldozer was vaporizing, and nearly killed the entire audience and staff. It seems that the guests were desperate to escape because they thought they would be killed if they didn't run away. He stated that the girl's bag was torn to shreds and she ran away crying. Hanatarashi would seal off his vandalism on stage in 1988, but he later recalled his vicious performances of that time, "The apartment I was living in at the time was bad. I think I was cursed," he later recalled in a magazine.XD Also, at that time, a noise band called Hijokaidan (非常階段), like Hanatarash, was also famous for its extreme performances.

"It seems that the guests were desperate to escape because they thought they would be killed if they didn't run away." No shit Sherlock. Btw I'm pretty sure that story is fake. He tried lighting the molotov cocktail but the show was stopped (not sure how) and he didn't end up doing it. There isn't a lot of information about hanatarash because they were a pretty underground band and most of their performances are undocumented/lost due to time so because of that, there are a lot of rumors surrounding them.

@@wiesawaniegowska3268 they did collaboration back then
The did'nt directly beat up the audience, but at some of their show fans had to sign a form saying that they would'nt sue the band if they got injured by something the band threw around eg plates of glass, bottles, bits of metal etc. But Yamatsuka Eye did famously drive a bulldozer through the wall of a venue onto the stage. Wish i could have seen them live back in the day.

To be frank, to say any form of art is objectively good or bad is little more than projecting one's own personal tastes onto another. If it were that easy, neither of us would be having this discussion in the first place.

what about merzbow and sutcliffe jugend, kk null and tabata? they are all well known in alot of scene's.. big hardcore raves even have noise and alikes in it. noise is (finally) becoming mainstream, not that people may know its actually a genre and/or will like it enough to promote. it stays noise and only people with a open mind and wide view of music will understand and like this music.. it may be mainstream but not really populair.. thank god
