I liked that they shared their drinks at the end. It shows that they are starting to bond.

It's amazing how good these writers are at both male AND female characters. Most RPG characters aren't this deep - one gender is relegated to romance interest, the other to rivals, and are just satellites around an annoying MC. What I especially find surprising is how I usually dislike the character tropes that Rokuro represents - the dark wandering ronin who cares only for the sword. And Eizen is not someone who seems to have much "character" at all, really. But in spite of that, I just can't help but love the two. They don't do anything to make me dislike them, and just keep doing things that make me love them. I like how Rokuro never feels like he needs to justify his obsession with getting stronger and killing his brother, even though nobody (not even me) understands why. And I like how Eizen seems rigid like a stiff commander, but he truly values freedom and everyone pursuing their individual interests - and being a huge dork about his own interests. I think it's because it adds to the theme of the story. As they said, they don't have any logical reason for the following Velvet. Most writers would try to craft a good reason for characters who have mostly villainous traits joining forces. But this is a story about Emotions vs. Reasons. These two are just going with their gut, with what they FEEL like doing. As opposed to other stories, where people group up for a shared reason. These guys really just tag along because they like each other and feel like they should, even if there's no reason to join. And those feelings aren't just brushed aside for being unreasonable - just like how Velvet's aren't brushed aside when she learns the truth and knows how much damage her actions will cause. I fucking LOVE this game!!!

This was my favorite scene in Berseria and just my favorite scene in any of the tales games. Acting was great, you felt the connection between to the two and gave great character development.

@@lizzyleea another recommendation if you like You could try Ys IX Monstrum Nox (Action, JRPG, Adventure) Maybe not as good as Berseria, but i think several Bonding Events with bros in that game is actually good (the Protag is a Male btw)

Captain morgan is rum. But Eizen had the drink with ice. So i would think its Some type Whisky since some people drink Whisky with ice. Not fully sure so either Rum or Whisky

I definitely ship these two as friends (though My OTP in this game is Rokurou and Velvet and I think Rokurou acknowledge that, but it could be just me...)

I think the most canon ship is Velvet and Eizen. Later on she talks to him a lot and you can tell she trusts him

@@gamerprince-tl5hg Yeah, Eizen is more of a right hand man to her than Roku is, and I think that makes them closer. I started to notice from the moment they had the private Shigure talk in Vester Tunnels about deciding to intervene.

Rokurou and Eleanor makes way more since and I ain't even a "shipping" kinda guy and Eizen and Velvet make more sense because they have a lot in common like both being overprotective and deeply loving their younger sibling, Velvet transformed into a demon while Eizen is transforming into a dragon and some other stuff.

I've been turned away by the Tales Of series since Symphonia insulted my intelligence. Saw this on sale for 14 bucks, and decided to try the series again after something like 15 years.... I like it. As a game? Whatever. But the characters are pretty dope. Feels like old ps1. Magilou's my favorite because that bitch is straight nasty, but Rock and Eizen's interactions with adorable little Laphicet the Second are preeeeeetty great. And I love those two guys just talking naturally, too. Rokuro's a meathead that loves fighting to a detriment, while Eizen is a conniving prick with the soul of an artist. And I really like how the two older men mesh with Velvet's character... everybody has a fucked up dark side, but spending time with them helps you ignore that.... and then along comes Eleanor to mess that all up. The game is average at BEST as far as gameplay goes... Tales is still stuck in like 97. But the characterization has flashes of brilliance in it.

I actually felt that Laphicet is what ruins the character dynamics. He's even more of a goody two shoes than Eleanor. And he states the obvious way too often.

@@ItsXetren I feel ya. The way I see it, he's sort of the way real kids do. There are odd points of trying to speak to him like an adult and coddle him. The characters are all trying to impress their values onto him, but also keep him safe and innocent. There's a cool duality in that.

@@Virjunior01 It's just a bit much most of the time for me. Then again, I'm also not a fan of children so that might play a part in my dislike for him. I just dislike having a character as pure and innocent as him in a cast of otherwise darker people. Eleanor doesn't bother as much in this regard because she at least serves as a good contrast to Velvet. She represents everything Velvet aspired to be before her life went to shit, it highlights just how much Velvet had changed. Of course, that could have been done just as well without having her in the main cast. Ideally, I'd prefer to not have Laphicet or Eleanor in the main group. I love how the main characters in Berseria aren't good people at all, it's honestly my favorite part. So having characters like Laphicet or Eleanor in the main group kinda puts a damper on that.

@@ItsXetren that's what I like about Laphi. I'm not a fan of children either, but just like the characters, you can feel this sense of "softening" that's very much at odds with their goals. You can sort of see Laphicet being "corrupted" by these real-ass people that have to get their hands dirty to deal with being dealt a bad hand in life. As far as Eleanor goes, the "corruption" is plain to see. Just like how the movie "Signs" was less about an alien invasion and more about a broken priest finding his faith again, Eleanor's part in Berseria is about losing that faith and becoming aware of the underlying paranoia and insecurity that plagues most of us. It's been done before, like Ellhaym van Houten in Xenogears (over 1300 hours in that), but I love that we get to hear her inner monologue as she tries to maintain her old values while Velvet and Eizen are just looking at the bitch like "mmmhmmmm." On that point, I do like Eizen and Velvet together. They have an unspoken understanding that Rock doesn't have, though there are still mysteries that Eizen only dares ask Rokuro about.

Do you mean it was just too hard for you and it made you feel stupid or did it actually make you feel stupid for playing on an easy mode.
