Saxophonist and music tutor Andrew Oh takes us through the features onboard the new Roland Aerophone GO! In this installment he walks us through the Aerophone GO Plus app, and how it expands the features of this versatile digital wind instrument..
The Aerophone GO Plus app offers additional sounds, useful practice features and extra customization options. It uses Bluetooth to wirelessly connect your Aerophone GO and smartphone. There are 50 extra sounds to tryout and there are several ways to learn specific songs including slowing the tempo of the playback song, or looping a specific section so you can listen in detail.

Thanks for the video, is the octave range the same as in a clarinet or a sax? And how does the 5 compare with the 10?

Clarinet spans 3 octaves plus a minor 3rd, the saxophone 2 octaves plus a major 6th. The Aerophone GO spans more than 5 octaves.

Is there any latency when using Bluetooth with a phone or tablet?

Thanks. I would have liked hearing some MIDI use of sounds in, say, Garageband or a another source (anything but the cheesey on-board sounds Roland installed).

Why didn't you try the Sax? How does it sound as Sax?

@@dotjock If you want good sax connect using usb to pc and software via daw programme seems very compatible you can get a realistic sound via pc the onboard sax sounds not very good flute, clarinet, synths are better not sure if app woodwinds any better and limited by onboard speaker, but via pc and connected speaker system and software nice sound.

A question. Let's pretend I'm playing this instrument by using one of the tones in the app, does the sound of the tone I'm using comes out from the 1/8 output of the instrument? I would appreciate your answer. Thanks

Operating the keys seems to make quite noticeable clicking sounds. I think that would bother me a lot if I was playing the instrument.

Not a lot more than a real saxophone. I often play the Aerophone GO with headphones.

@@henryburner Thanks for your helpful reply. In the meantime, i bought an Aerophone ae-10 and am enjoying it. And no, the sound of the keys is not a problem.

So the additional sounds in the app can't be permanently loaded in to the flash memory of the GO?

I had the same question but not with sounds. The sounds are not loaded on the aerophone it is obvious. You hear them using the android's audio out jack. My questions go with the rest of settings. like fingering modes etc. Aren;t they getting store in the aerophone's memory as a default?

How do I set it up so that the sound comes out of the aeroophone headphones?

Plug the headphones in to the headphone jack on the side of the instrument

@@luisvenegas6025 You need to get a cord that can plug into headphone jack on your phone and then to an external speaker. I use one to plug my ipad into an amp. You may have to search on amazon for the proper cord

Connecting my Aerophone AE05 to the App go plus, either via USB cable, there is a unacceptable delay I can't synchronize my sound with rhythm. Whats the problemi?

Are you using android? There could be less latency with iPhone or iPad. Hopefully others will chime in.

@@4frankp I've changed my AE05 with the AE10. AE05, in this first edition, is a toys, but a very expensive toys. That's a pity because new one, more little, is also more playable. Don't you think the same? Thanks a lot for interesting in my question.
