Hey, Scott. Great demo of what is a brilliant amp! Bought one of these in January, after years of playing tube amps. You're absolutely right; you have to try the Blues Cubes to appreciate just how tube like they are. Keep up the good work!

Great review. I got one as soon as it hit the market and it's such a great amplifier.

Very versitle and sonically great! Got both the EJ and Robbin Ford tone capsules. Close enough to a tube for my JM Strat and Gibson SG!

I have the Ultimate Blues Tone Capsule. Takes it from sounding like a 6L6 tweed amp to a 6V6 Blackface type amp. Not better just different - and highly recommended.

Excellent amplifier. They make a Jeff Baxter tone capsule called sparkle clean. Thanks, for the great video.

I thought you might have played the les paul humbuckers through the low input, I play my single coil strat through the high input I'm thinking of buying the ultimate tone capsule! really great amp. best wishes.

You may be disappointed with the Eric Johnson tone capsule on the crunch channel. It works very well on the clean channel but not the crunch channel. I use the Ultimate Blues capsule. i love the sag that offers response like a black face Deluxe. The Artist model is perfect for me. I play an eclectic mix of styles but mostly blues.

I have two older Roland Cube amps, and I absolutely LOVE them. My band hosts a jam, and we have to supply the backline. The Cubes not only SOUND great, but they're versatile, and, more importantly, they're pretty much indestructible, unlike the tube amps we used to provide, which went through said tubes at an alarming rate. (Why DO people think they need to play everything flat out at jams?😂)

I am between a rock and a hard place trying to decide between these two Roland amps A Kanata Artist or the Blues Cube Artist 2x12! I need many different sounds and was leaning towards the katana Artist but the tube tone is so good I just might buy the Blues Cube Artist and a pedal board. We play some blues , Lots of Funk, Motown and a few classic rockers your thoughts?

I don't have either but my instinct is the guts are basically the same

Mark White I’ve played both they are very different amps. The Katana artist is more about effects and patches it doesn’t sound anything like the blues Cube. The blues Cube has 1 job and that is to sound like and react like a blues style tube amp and it does it very well and it takes pedals like a tube amp. The katana is not geared to react like a tube amp.

Will you say it's better then a fender bassbreaker 45
@5tw8se745 жыл бұрын
No. I own a Bassbreaker 45 combo and a guitarist I work with has a Blues Cube Artists. Sorry, but just no way.
@dressedtosmellgood4 жыл бұрын
@@5tw8se74 its better in that it has an effects loop and the bassbreaker doesn't.

Looks a lot like a Fender amp! I just do not think the price is in line with the value.

Did you make a list before making that decision? - this amp has everything. FX loop, headphone output, you can record direct, it has superb reverb, tremolo, super important power control, boost - tone for each channel, the dual tone - super clever feature-, plus a really nice warm big sound. It is highly sensitive to your playing, as opposed to most SS amps.It is lighter than a tube amp and maintenance Free. Also has the foot switch to control it, and you can also decide which features to engage with it. Wow Man! what are you saying? just say you don't prefer it. Totally different statements.

okey my slow internet deleted my long response. In short: I agree with you. It was a kind of compulsive purchase in my case because I don't gig yet. But I do love it. I got without paying VAT which reduces the retail price by about 17%. I am not remorse-free, because is a lot of money, but I put a Blackstar artist and a Laney Lionheart L5T on the list -priced very similarly - and I decided I like the blues cube better. I did get the f***ing Artist because the stage doesn't bring the FX loop or the tremolo, more the FX loop, but is a really nice amp. In my case tubeless is better because I had it shipped from Germany to Kazakhstan and the risk of having a tube or two damaged by mishandling it is too high for me to take. I agree with the tone capsules I think you can have them all with pedals. but anyway. Good luck finding a second-hand artist. you will enjoy it! (y)

Ces, To get the sound of a tube amp from my SS amps I stick several tube pre-amps in front of them. Now all my amps and now even my SS amps have tube sag, shimmering power chords and all the other words (I have a headache and my ability to recall the correct word/descriptions to describe my tube amps is partially impaired tonight) we use to describe a great tube amp. I am saying my old second hand Fender Frontman 100 watts 212 sounds fantastic with 4 tube preamps in front, or into the Pre-In of the effects loop. I am saying my $89 Acoustic G35FX 35 watt 12" speaker combo amp also sounds excellent! It's as if I have discovered the Holy Grail of how to obtain good tone! So my method of using 4 tube preamps running into any amp gets me the tone, sound and touch sensitivity of my expensive tube amps, and even out of even my least expensive SS amp. The differences between each amp is some of my SS amps are 10W, 20W,35W,50W,8oW and even 100W 212 all of them t now have that tube tone and dynamics. Even my three smallest amps which are all 5w Tube amps now sound really good like their more powerful big brothers from Fender and Marshall. Remember many modern SS amps have Tremolo,reverb, delay,chorus etc. That (all of the above) in a nutshell is why I say the Roland Blues Cubes are over priced. My existing SS amps sound better! Plus I can use my tube preamp rig on any and all future amp purchases. As already I use them on several different amps every day.

Good review but he talks as if he's talking to a child.

i disagree, i didn't get that impression. I've been playing for 30+ Years and have seen lots of equipment I don't think he's talking down to us i think he's just being clear and concise There's a difference between being patronizing and being clear. also consider not all of us know everything, There are beginners here who don't know what an interval is therefore a video like this will benefit them as well as us
