That text-only detailed view is, as I now understand, the FA's tracker view, reminiscent, though more practical, of the old-school trackers that early PC music was made with, starting with the Amigas and Commodore64 and such. Now people are abuzz with LSDJ, the Polyend Tracker, and Dirtywave M8. I knew nothing before Polyend churned out their tracker.

Can you tell our readers exactly HOW the Polyend Tracker makes it EASIER to make music than the Roland/Yamaha "text" method ? ...... the Polyend is $600 and it doesn't have a keyboard so you will need a MIDI controller to use it

@@StephenMendes I would not know how the Polyend makes it easier, no one says or implies that the Polyend makes it easier. I feel that MC-707 and Electribe 2 make it quicker than the FA's tracker or Step Input to compose music, but they have different limitations and quirks.

@@Jason75913 thanks for your comment.... so in reality EVERY sequencer has it's own QUIRKS and LIMITATIONS ? .... which means I could as well stay with FA-06 and make some great music 🙂

If the backing track is AUDIO it would go onto one of the SAMPLE buttons and here is the video showing you how to do that kzfaq.info/get/bejne/btCVjZl0vrK9on0.html If the backing track is MIDI you can put it in the sequencer either by downloading from a DAW directly into the sequencer as shown in this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d5pzZZWQvdHcYmw.html OR by putting MIDI file on the sound card and IMPORTING into the sequencer .... watch this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pN12nr2kvcjDnqM.html

Was thinking about adding a FA-06 to my setup as a MIDI recorder and mixer as an alternative to recording in a DAW. I saw your video on recording from a DAW to the FA-06 from a single track into 4 tracks. I want to record from a MPC One using multiple tracks out (and the same amount of MIDI channels out). I want to record the multiple channel MIDI out into the same amount of tracks on the FA06 all at once. Recording the whole sequence in one shot. I would’ve posted this in a more relevant video but but was concerned you wouldn’t see it there because you made it some time ago. Can the FA-06 record a whole sequence at once from an external MIDI device such as a MPC?

YES ABSOLUTELY...... all channels in the MIDI stream will automatically record to the proper tracks in the FA-06 .... as shown in my other video, you simply set the Synchronization in the FA-06 to MIDI clock and make sure the sending device is transmitting Start, Stop and Continue signals along with the clock ..... if you want the measures to line up, then make sure the Time Signature in FA is same as the sending device but timing will not be affected if you do not do this (only editing will be a nightmare.... if you ever want to edit the tracks)
