yes you are right. but not when the base sound is not authentic piano sound its problematic to make it sound more authentic with fiddling with the parameters. any way my (ex) RD800 pianos sound better then this modeled piano sound.

Any Kawai or Yamaha Digital Home piano same price will do. I prefer the Kawai. Lets say the Kawai ca49 / ca59 or the yamaha clp 735 / clp 745 also great instruments with great piano sounds.

the Yamaha DP are base on samples! the Roland High end DP are base on rendering sound from conputer. not real piano! and about "wood" vs "plastic"! its over rated! the are "wood" keys that feels like shit! and plastic keys that feels like heaven. and the yamaha plastic keys on the clp feels better the the "wooden" spongy action of Roland. but the Roland action is very durable so... sound wise? Yamaha wins big!! key action wise? yamaha wins again. but its subjective. Kawai win them both! but its subjective to!!! anyway. looking for Digital Piano? take yamaha or kawai. and if your are fan boy of roland.... look for piano base on sample and note render. like the fp30x or the fp60x. or the less expansive home digital. i wouldn't touch Roland digital pianos. dou i like the new fp30x and the fp60x. its sounds good on the youtube reviews. and its sample base!

@@TamirOrkobysPiano Thank you for quick answer. I just don't like the feel of the keys on the clp735. The 45 has nice feel too it, but it's too much to pay 3000 euro for a slightly better feel. Might go with the yamaha clp 735 after all! My dealer does not have kawai unfortunatly.

@@loveofgod9462 I bought the Lx705. Piano sounds are alot better than the HP or other Roland series because they use "pureacoustic" instead of "supernatural" sound engine, and also a different speaker system that makes the piano sound more like a semi teared older grand. The biggest down I have is not the sound of the engine, but the speaker sound since you have to adjust alot of settings when switching from headphones to speakers. Also the piano sound a bit too metallic at default. Alot of adjustments are neccessary to create a good sound. Another thing to notice is that is has a bit shorter keys which makes certain very techniqal melodies harder to play than usual. The key action is good. It's by my opinion better than the CLP 735 but a bit less than the C45 when it comes to the grands and keys. I took Tamirs words and did more reviews myself before choosing. My decision to pay 200 eur extra to get the LX705 instead of the HP704 I am very happy with. Overall the LX705 adresses almost every problem Tamir mentioned with the HP. And mark my word: Modelling has benefits too. When the artificial feel the supernatural engine has been to a high degree solved you end up with a pretty good piano with alot of possibilities. When it comes to settings and adjustment it is leauges infront of the CLP. I bought it for 2200 EUR. This is just my personal preference and opinions, which I know Tamir doesn't fully agree with. I agree with every criticism he has, but not the overall judgment.

Change my Mind in a way. I love the Sampled Piano's Of Roland (FP30x, RD88, Fandom O) hate the Modeled Piano's like here.

Don't touch the Roland digital pianos. My advice. If you want good home digital piano. Same price as the roland lx 705 take the yamaha clp 745 or the kawai ca59 (best choice to my opinion). You've got almost the same amount of "other" sounds on the kawai as the roland. And much better piano sound and feel.

@@TamirOrkobysPiano CLP 745 is around 550 euro more were I live. Didn't have chance to try any Kawais and wouldn't buy something I've never tried. But I mark your words for the kawai, alot of people seem to favour it. I however did like the clp 745 alot. I think the 735 was in the same price as the lx705 were I live. And the 735 still have fully plastic keys and misses alot of recording friendly gadgets compared to the 745. For the next gen digital pianos it will be cool to see how different brand evolves. Maybe digital tech will outbeat the sampled tech if you regard how insanely fast technology rises. I'm a guitar player, and for guitars, anything electronically has never ever even come slightly close to a real guitar.

@@TamirOrkobysPiano I mean I compared Roland HP704 to an old Casio keyboard. on Roland I was flying because I had never played better than my keyboard which I still dearly appreciate x HAHA.

Most of today kawai DP's got samples of this pianos : SK concert grand. EX Concert Grand. SK5 Studio Grand. K6(0) Upright.

@@veronicat.4375 My bad, I was going from faulty memory. You're right, the 702 and 704 are both using the same modelling for their 4 primary piano voices. The main advantage of the 704 over the 702 is the 2 extra speakers and the PHA-50 keyboard action. As it happens I have the 704 and to be honest I probably would have been just as happy with an RP-701, which is a lot cheaper. The modelled sound isn't noticeably worth it to me.

i don't agree. there are very good digital piano's at this price range. some people will say even better then accustic piano. but this model is defenetly not one of them.

@@sarafoxy personaly i"m anti - rendering piano sound. also on vst. every one else is saying prays on the pianoteq piano's sound. not me. i can 👂 clearly when its not real piano sound and its bothering me. but even if you pro render piano sound. the roland render piano sound are the worse in the industry to my opinion. and i use to have RD800 which is their pre flugship stage piano. but each case to its own. and this piano is one of the worse i heard. i usually dont like roland piano sound but on their flagship some of them are bearable. not the case here.

Acoustic pianos are loud (for practice) and require tuning and other attention to keep them playing nice. Room humidity and temperature can also alter an acoustic piano sound and tuning. A digital piano will always sound ''perfect''.
