I purchased a second hand Rolex 21 years ago. Have worn as an everyday most of that time. I sent it back to Rolex about six months ago for overhaul. It looks brand new. Also it is valued about 3.5 times more than I paid. Awesome investment for the long haul.

It really is a beautiful watch. It's reasonably sized, classic not over complicated. I've purchased a a couple watches recently after not wearing them in the smartphone era and I enjoy the watch videos. Merry Christmas, and best of luck in the new year.

Added my name to the waiting list at two Denver Rolex dealers for an explorer II two years ago and havent heard a peep. For all I know, they threw out my name since I havent purchased a watch previously from either dealer. The whole process is just absolutely frustrating and has really soured my interest in the brand

I feel you, bro. you aren't alone. Many are soured and hopefully the new factory being built will help alleviate these issues. If you haven't sent an email to your person reminding them you are still interested you might want to. I always kept in contact with my guy and as luck would have it, I just got my first allocation for a new Rolex yesterday. Also spent a good amount over the last 25 months or so... Including this used Explorer three weeks ago lol. But im interested in a lot of watches so I figured I didn't mind waiting and if I ever got a new allocation then it would be gravy. If an Explorer II is the only watch you really want then might as well just buy it and start enjoying it. Over the next 20 years the few K extra probably won't bug ya! Thats my thought with this Explorer at least... Good luck brother!

Hey! You are quite welcome and thank YOU for the comment. I do love this watch. I'm now over a month into ownership and I have no plans of ever parting with it. As far as staying loyal... I think unfortunately I'm already an addict! But hopefully in a responsible way. I actually got my first new Rolex allocation from my AD just 2 weeks after buying this Explorer, so I now also own a Datejust 41 with the blue dial, jubilee bracelet, and smooth bezel. Big fan of it too! Thanks again!

Just came across your channel. I was just in the Springs at the beginning of the month competing at the Olympic Training Center. While I was there I hosted a watch collectors meet-up. Had folks local to the Springs and some from Boulder come and take a tour of the OTC and we showed off our watches. You should join us next time.

I also purchased a Mk1 a few years ago recently I took it for servicing at my local ad and I was told I can change the dial and hands for a Mk2 upgrade so I went ahead as long as I was able to keep the old hands Dial I am very happy

Oh now that's interesting... I had no idea. Longer hands but keep the white goal numerals. I think that might be the way I'd go. I don't need the lume. Sounds like a win-win either way, though. @@rockymtnstyle that's the one thing they told me I had to take the set. I first asked just for that hands Ad said no because it uses different lume but I did keep both parts so if I ever choose convert it back to Mk1 I can

Great video man, I’m actually looking to make a purch on a 2015 214270 mk1 from the 1916 Company via their CPO program. They want $8,200 wire and won’t budge on pricing. Did you pay close to that? I’m trying to determine if that’s a fair asking for a CPO example. All other dealers like Watchfinder & Co are asking early $7,000’s currently. Thanks

Thanks, Casey! I actually paid $8800 I think. Prices have definitely come down a bit since December. Like I said in the video, if you're only concern is price then CPO ain't the way. But - if you want to make sure you have a good example that has 100% been serviced and will likely have a slightly higher resale value later in the future, CPO is good. I tend to worry about stuff (like things going wrong with used cars) so I was OK w/ the extra money for the extra piece of mind, even though many folks argued with me! Cheers mate! Good luck on your decision. It's a wonderful watch and I wear it more than any other now.

Great watch and good info on the CPO program. Any other watches on the horizon for 2024? Have a long-term grail you're working towards?

Do all CPOs come with original box and papers?

Good question. From what the AD told me, they only pick really nice examples for the CPO program, so that would generally mean B&P... But I don't think it's a 100% certainty.
