It was a 16570 from around 2010. My wrist size is about 6.5 inches roughly. I bought it at a huge discount, so I quickly sold it for profit that is why I don’t call it my first Rolex. I think you would be better off with the 216570 in 42mm since you have a larger wrist. Have you tried it on or is there a place where you live where you can?

FPJ is overrated

I find them to be much easier to photograph than say the rounded speedmaster plexi! 😅 Thank you again for sharing those fantastic pictures of the 1016 - a beauty!!

AR coatings are applied to the inside of the glass not the outside. So it will not wear away or discolour during use. Even when we wash the open case during service in strong degreasing chemicals Rolex doesn't use it except under the cyclops on newer versions because they prefer the reflection. As it flashes it grabs the attention from people around you and they look at the watch. It makes the watch shout, very quietly! Sure, it can make it hard to read in some lights especially if you have a light dial and hands. However, that doesn't matter in reality as nobody truly buys a Rolex to tell the time.

Giosaurus Rex prices have indeed gone a bit north as of late. If you like the sub, go for it, just a bit more expensive, if you settle you will guaranteed regret it later 👍 both are excellent choices imho

Never have had a problem with mine. Smudges are usually worse on watches with AR coating, which this watch doesn’t have.

Hi I was in your shoes I bought the oyster with black dial which I’m very happy with.If you buy the black or white dial you can’t go wrong since all the sticks on the dial lumes and looks better

6.5 inch wrist, wears very nice imho. This could be my one and only watch, if only I didn't like watches so much :-) This definitely wears smaller than any other rolex professional model. It is very thin compared to all of them, and nice and slender as well in comparison. The Daytona might be perhaps the exception, but good luck getting one at retail..

@@degriff thanks very much for the reply. Mybwristbis between 6.5 and 6.75 depending on how much I'm training. In competition on the smaller side. I'm caught in a weird limbo where my 36 datejusts can feel a little small, the 42 explorer 2 was good, but the maximum case sub was a little too bulky. Funnily all my omega of 41 and below seem to fit really well, maybe due to the lyre lugs. Appreciate the reply. I'm gonna get myself on the list for this one.

Mathieu Vaillancourt hey Mathieu, good question. I wouldnt exactly call it a diver extension but it does have a half a link extension. For those days where your wrist swells. It will not allow you to slip it over a wetsuit but it does provide extra comfort when needed. On our channel there is another video on the explorer, the overview video wthout voice, you can see the extra link in detail in that one 👍

Honestly speaking - super easily. It picks up hairline scratches like it is nothing, After a while there are enough of them to not bother anymore, if that makes any sense. But yes, it really picks up (hairline) scratches with ease. It doesnt bother me at all, you kind of sign up for that when you take a polished stainless steel bezel.

There was definitely nothing wrong with the 36mm with respect to its proportions, I agree. The Mark II is also nicely proportioned though, different yes, but nothing like the Mark I which in my opinion had a bit of proportion troubles
