It’s a decrease in secondary price but if you’re buying almost any submariner or Daytona at retail then they sell for thousands above retail even with the secondary price being down

@cookingwithwatches No sir!...Every rolex goes down in prices Every year, as it gets older except for one or two big time pieces. And they do the same thing specifically if you buy it from a gray market dealer. The only way you can make money is buying straight out of Rolex's stores for like 8k - 10k and taking it to a gray market and selling it 15k-20k.. and that's not an investment that's just Flipping.

@@JohnSander-dg1rbto be fair, they don’t really need to be serviced very often. I’ve had my Rolex Datejust for 30 plus years (gifted new to me) and I just recently had it fully serviced, not because it didn’t keep accurate time, but just to get it repolished and looking new again.

Its all relative to the total price of the watch! A $4300 drop on a $25k watch is not the same as a $4000 drop on a $14k watch. Percentages would be best

One point he doesn't make is the (decreased) prices he refers to are STILL above RRP. When used watches cost less than new watches from a Rolex dealer we'll know we've achieved some degree of sense in the market.

No. Rolex prices have gone up. Only the over inflated secondary market prices have come down on some models.

It was always a bubble. Bubbles burst especially when economies get bad and money gets expensive. These grey market prices over MSRP for mass produced steel watches with manufactured scarcity of course will continue to drop.

I find it mind blowing that people are willing to pay so much over retail for or watch or play the game of sucking up to an AD and getting your ‘spend’ up. If you could walk in and buy a sub or a GMT I’d go get one tomorrow but no chance I’m spending a penny over. Also to talk about a ‘good investment’ at the end of a video about how much money Rolex’s have lost in the last year is also mind blowing

Watches are not investment products. To purport that is ignorant. The price a buyer is willing to pay is only for the cachet. Cachet is subjective and can fall victim to fickleness.

Firstly tell the % they decreased or give the actual price since the watches you mentioned range in price. A $2500 decrease in price on a $100k watch is insignificant. Secondly when you said Rolex are great investments I realized you are just a sleazy salesman 😂 and not a very good investor.

Not all of the Rolex models at retail. DJ41 stainless based on dial and bracelet combination, Sub stainless, GMT stainless, Daytona Stainless or with Oysterflex, YM Titanium to name a few over retail on the grey market.

@@WordMadeFlesh777 depends on what you are comparing to, people buy watches to get accurate time in three days i a minute 2-3 minutes a week , not the great time to keep , specially watch costs a lot , and than when you compare to let say Citizen watches they all accurate to the seconds, looks almost the same cista $300-$400 , do you really want to buy watch for $ 10G or $25 GS , to be few seconds off every day? Its kinda stupid when you think what watch is invented for
