If I ever get a chance to buy a Submariner, I would choose the no date because of heritage but also because of the symmetry.

This is exactly how I felt when my AD called me earlier this year with a Starbucks. They are amazing, iconic watches. I love my Starbucks and I love the no-date Sub (my son got the call this month from my AD for his no-date Sub and he feels exactly the same way you do about his). Hope your back improves soon, dude!

I felt the same way when I got my Sub a couple years ago. It was a great day/moment of my life no doubt. Another reason I could never let it go. If I absolutely needed to sell any of my other watches, the sub would be the last to go but I would have to be in quite the debacle to even consider it.

Yo! Happy 6 months!! I got mine a month after you in May (thanks again to ur advice 🤙🤙🤙) & I haven't worn any of my other watches I rotated regularly really since then. I've got a DJ on a jubilee & always thought that was the most comfortable one on wrist & the oystersteel is right up next to it. There really isnt a better bracelet than a Rolex one! I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a long ass honeymoon phase because I jes love my Sub! Everyone waiting for one jes hang in there you will not be disappointed!! Aloha my bradda!!

Hey, Tony. Super late comment, not sure if you're gonna see this... But I just subscribed and wanted to say I really appreciate your honesty and transparency. When you said "I purchased my Datejust, but after a few months of wear it becomes a normal watch" that really resonated with me. I feel like so many larger channels overhype watches like it's a purchase that's going to change your life... Then you check their descriptions and see they're sponsored by an AD that sent them the watch. Or they have an affiliation with an online website, or straight up sell the watch themselves lol. Your channel is such a breath of fresh air. I purchased my 124060 a month ago after a one week wait, and it's such a treat to wear!

Great video! I launched my own roofing company in November, and if I hit my one year revenue goal of $1m I'm putting myself on the list for this. I think the traditional sub is way cleaner than the date, and I agree with the comment about the heritage.

I have a Rolex submariner 40mm date now and I’ve been wanting the 41 mm. I have been on a waiting list now for a little over a year with both AD’s . My question is do you think it looks bad to wear my Rolex into the two authorized dealers I am currently dealing with now? One of the authorized dealer is the one I purchased my Rolex submariner from back in 2016 and I’ve been using that same sales person. However it’s not the sales person that is choosing who gets the watches it’s the owner and the other authorized dealer I’ve never purchased from. I just wouldn’t want either one to think because I already have a Rolex submariner they should choose someone who doesn’t, especially the Ad that I have no purchase history with. Anyways, thank you for your videos and advice I have enjoyed your content very much!

I took the plunge and visited the AD and 'ordered' a 124060 no date. It is a beautiful watch and without the date is closer to the perfect aesthetic. My last diver was a Tudor Submariner from the 1970's. After the obligatory chat with the AD rep, who I must say was a credit to Rolex, establishing my 'bona fides' as a buyer, I asked about a purchase of a 126710BLNR GMT and was listed as a purchaser of this watch.Being on a list is not the same as having one, but looking forward to the day it/they are at the AD's.

I'm with you on this Bezel turning thing ,unless you really use the Bezel. I am pretty sure the majority don't use the Bezel or the Chronograph on the Daytona. We just love the way they look full stop.

4:07 that’s a great perspective to look at honestly and unfortunately because while I did special to finally get that call for my 124060 recently, it still took me almost 2 years of waiting after it came out so how special was it really? I guess it’s all relative but don’t get me wrong I’m still grateful to actually get THE call.

Well said Tony, re not having a favourite (well, not consciously) Started my journey with a titanium fossil watch - loved it but a link broke and it was a contoured bracelet that had been discontinued. Next it was Omega and finally as I’ve earned a bit more Rolex. Wear them all including my beast of an Omega dive watch. Have never thought oh no, need to slum it today with ‘x’ watch. Although that said I am more and more selective where I wear some of late. Sad sign of the times. Buy what you like - anyone truly into watches will just want to chew the fat on what they like, dislike about it regardless of what it is (that’s normal). Stay away from freaks that just want to get a reaction with sound bites. Or anyone that judges because - “you could feed x number of people with that money”. Although at the same time try and be sympathetic if someone is struggling financially and you just blew hundreds/thousands/more on a watch. That is not the time to be rocking a gold Audemars brick in their face.

Surprising your dealer said the date is slightly more sought after. No competition in my eyes, the no date is much more visually appealing.

I got my sub 126610 in 10 months. I am lucky too. I just must to sold for it my 214270 and IWC mark 16 :( but happy anyway, becoause now I got 126621 and that sub. now I need to get vintage pepsi on jubilee to complete my collection.

This whole Rolex thing is so ridiculous… it’s something that we as a society and humans have engraved in our heads as being phenomenal and being full of wonderfulness to have one , people see it as an unobtainable Medal of Honor …lol , It’s a freaking watch ! … would you be as happy if it was the exact same watch but it read timex on the dial ? ….nooooo Btw …. The 4060 is a 12 hour watch, the 6610 a 24 hour watch. 12 hour watches are so much easier to live with. You don't risk damaging the watch if you try to set the date when the date complication is engaged. There is no date complication. You don't need to set the date after a month with less than 30 days. If the watch runs out of juice, you only need to set the time by a max of 6 hours instead of 12 hours and then setting the date as well. Also, the 4060 doesn't have the cyclops, and it looks cleaner. And for a diver, you don't need to know the date under water.

I would have chosen the no date as well, I'm not a fan of a cyclops.
