VC is anather world and n1 in watchmaking..

IMO the finest “mainstream” watch brands (excluding boutique brands Journe, etc.) are Patek, Vacheron, JLC, and ALS. AP makes numerous variations of one watch, the RO (their Code 1159 doesn’t rate). Breguet and Blancpain have “history” but little else to offer in today’s watch world. Rolex make a tremendous watch, but it is for a different client…not for connoisseurs. Vacheron is a Rolls Royce, Rolex is your trusty luxury pickup truck.

I just bought a silver dial dual time VC. This watch is truly amazing. I have a Rolex too but the quality is by far not the same.

Rolex is indeed very different to Vacheron, i completely have to agree with you. Rolex doesnt belong in the top 4. Yes i said it, top 4. Patek, AP, VC & Breguet. I wouldnt say VC is a nobody, you have to be delusional or new to watches. You are right in a way to say VC doesnt gain enough notoriety vs Rolex, but neither did AP or Patek. Its all new notoriety. People are just Rolex fan boys paying for mass produced watches with no artisan like qualities. No haute horological roots. Vacheron > Rolex all day. This coming from a person who has had 9 Rolexes and only 1 Vacheron, 2 APS, & 2 Pateks amongst many other brands. Be accurate with what you say when you talk about the God Tier and speak facts, never compare a mediocre Rolex to a Vacheron.

They are diff level brands, diff level of history, diff level of finish, diff level of polishing, diff level of movement finishing... Huge diff in retail price... 🤫

I love the vc, but design wise, I think the am/pm indicator would have looked better flipped, so the am/pm text was near the minute track rather than the center of the watch. If I’m being ocd, a power reserve indicator of the same arc size as the am/pm indicator on the right side would balance out the dial nicely.

Good review, but the sky dweller is not the thickest of Rolex’s watches. My Sea Dweller Deepsea is 3mm thicker at 17.7mm… and then there is the new titanium Deepsea challenge at 23mm…

It hurts to hear someone saying that wearing a VC to a night club and expect attention...... it’s like saying wearing ALS to a disco and expect to pick up chicks to get laid… come on, stay with RM or diamond Daytona.. for those flexing rich hype which know shit about watch

Hi Joseph, I'm in a fortunate and unique situation to obtain the beautiful VC Overseas Dual Time. I make my living as a nature photographer and find myself in very roughed environmental conditions almost on a daily occurrence. Is the VC Overseas Dual Time tough enough to handle this. Thank you

Hermes H08 vrs Cartier Santos vrs Bell and Ross. After looking at these, I felt the Hermes H08 is the spiritual progression of the santos. And it’s time, the Santos was a gentleman’s watch from a jewelry company. It offered a square shape, which in itself is somewhat masculine. The H08 is scratch resistance the titanium bezel that is with the sunray finish. I got a version with the DLC black case. Then I purchased some extra straps, I got the orange one because that’s the color of the company. I also got the titanium bracelet. It really feels similar to the Santos and that it’s very thin and wrapped around your wrist but a modern interpretation. When you go to Amy’s next time to get your wife, a purse, check out their watches. The price point is pretty appealing.

As nice a piece as the Rolex Sky Dweller is - probably one of their BEST pieces, there is NO comparison, NONE WHATSOEVER, to a VC. VC is haute horology on so many different levels over Rolex - FACT.
