I worked at a German restaurant with a VERY small playlist of songs that looped every day. This was one of those songs. Ich arbeitete in einen Deutschen Restaurant mit ein SEHR kleiner Playlist. Die Lieder gespielt ohne Ende, auf jeden Tag. Dieses Lied ist eine von denen. Tut mir leid für alle die Deutsche, die meinen Komment geliest hatte, meine Grammatik ist wahrscheinlich sehr schlecht. This is not a national dance from Poland. It is a national dance from the Czech Republic. The name Polka does not mean Poland, but in translation into English it means half - that the dance is danced for two beats. And this great song, which was sung in both English and German during the war, was written by the Czech composer Jaromír Vejvoda
