@@amathonn First of all "peel n stick" roofs require a smooth surface to adhere to. That's why they make a "base" sheet underlayment that installs first. Then the peel n stick membrane adheres to that. Second you NEVER put a nail in it! Especially in the overlap seam! Third it requires a edge metal that goes around the perimeter edge for it to adhere to correctly to prevent wind from getting under and blowing it off! I honestly don't know how people get by doing shotty work like this!! I promise you it didn't stick and you could pull it up with ease! People PLEASE check your contractors credentials and get references before hiring them!

@@mrreams711 As noted above, product instructions clearly indicate that the WeatherWatch material has a limited time after installation before the final roofing is installed over it. If exposed for too long, UV damage may occur, the product lifetime will be shortened and the warranty will expire. Others have used WeatherWatch as the final roofing treatment as well, but this is not in compliance with the manufacturer's instructions. It obviously works, but the durability and performance over time will suffer.

The roofs wasn't leaking to begin with- an extra layer is terrific.

KZfaq (trained) roofers are the entire reason why consultants get paid so much. When you have entire companies who's combined experience is "well I saw the video but I couldn't quite understand the code books or manufactures label" and lawyers just see "huh, he has a license", you spend years in arbitration, just to have guys like this pay for complete reroof, framing, drywall, and other consequential damages. Except they dont. Because 9/10 times their "company" is dissolved before the first rainstorm and the phone number is a disconnected burner.

well - you could also add rice crispies with Elmer's glue, but that doesn't mean it's the best solution. Go the the manufacturer's website before you do this yourself. It's not difficult, but it needs a couple extra pieces of material, then it will last 30 years. Good luck.

I'm lost what are you trying to say because if your saying this is wrong. Then please give me the name of the company you work for. So I can make sure they re train you. Although his technique is completely wrong peeling and placing... He uses the right product. Could you use others absolutely.. But this product is basically torch down. Insurers of having to use propane torches to heat it up to become sticky this used the ice and water underlayment concept and it already had the adhesive on it.. Accept it's stronger and stickier. It's also 3-4 times thicker then ice and water shield or underlayment. So other then peeling the plastic of wrong and making more work for himself. Whay did he do wrong? I think you need to go back to training or some trade shows to learn about new products

It is a ROOFING UNDERLAYMENT. That means, it goes UNDER REAL ROOFING. It's meant to be used at eaves, rakes, and around valleys and chimneys. It helps stop damage from ice dams and wind driven rain. It is not meant to be used as roofing. PERIOD. You are thinking of self adhesive rolled modified bitumen...and this product isn't it. I won't even take time to address how he fucked up and didn't finish the termination into the house wall with flashing. That guy is a hack and should be thrown in prison for ripping people off! Clearly, this is not his first time doing so...
