Let's say you want to install in in a space that has only a 7 foot ceiling. Could a guy make the opening smaller to accommodate the header section in the room?

Page 1 of instructions should say DO NOT REMOVE PLASTIC WRAP UNTIL STEP X, It should say this outside on box as well...Looks like say video and door as Ideal 200M... having issues with spring tension on my drum, when lift door it slips the drum, trying to determine how much tension is safe to load on the door.. as if I get it to about what is needed, something slips inside my drum and back to no tension.

Do I need to roll up curtain back on drum and release all tension and start all over? used to preloaded full sized garage doors with little adjustment.

These look really cool and easy to install. Are these legal for a small garage door? My garage door frame is 7'5" wide x 6' 9" tall.

I've seen these in store promoted as shed doors. I was interested but it looks like a nightmare with water intrusion since a shed with a wooden platform usually don't has a required slope...

For safety tie a loop in the middle of the pull string? What safety violation is being committed if we don't tie a third loop in our pull string?

Yes. You would need to purchase a motor when you buy your door, then run power to the motor. I bought a chain pull with mine.

Hi. I have a roll up door just like this one. It is 10 feet wide. I removed it from a shed and I am reinstalling it. First off, it is heavy as hell. In the process of installing, it came unrolled. After much struggle I mounted it on the opening. Now trying to get it to roll back up is impossible. The ratching on the left side is not rachting or doing anything. How do I get this to work ? I hope you don't tell me I have to remove it and start allover again. This thing is a pain in the ass.

These door are high skill pill if not done correct. I own three with unique spring loading.

Can a electric motor be installed on this type ?

This particular door set-up is known as what is called a "dead shaft" type door. Some manufactures build doors like this upon request to accept and electric operator just depending on the model. I recommend the Liftmaster model 3950 as a bigger commercial operator will tear these doors to pieces in the event the door is locked or bound up.
