This comment still applies til today lol. He’s still the only one that breaks down JB moves. I’m trying to pick up the style without a jb skater/teacher in my area and it’s a struggle 🥴😭

Flexing that shin muscle because of sports injuries explains why I always get caught up on the toe stop. I was going to get the toe caps like you mentioned in another video because of it dragging. Thx for the hint

May I ask, how long have you skated for and how long did it take you to become an avid skater? Great videos by the way.

I start in 04 and always loved it but i took years off because I played so many sports. And then I went to college to play football. When I came back from college in 2014 I started taking it more serious. Thank u for watching!!!

Did you start off taking lessons or did you learn through initially watching others, picking up their techniques and then practicing them? As you can maybe tell by my questions, I’m a newbie. I learned to skate on inlines, but never tried quads. I went to the only roller skating rink in my city about a week ago, never knowing that it existed. Strapped on some inlines, feeling extremely hesitant as I haven’t skated since I was 11 (22 years ago), but once I got up the nerve to head out onto the rink, it felt really good. So much so that throughout this whole week, I’ve been contemplating buying quads.

@@DoBetterEachDay I started on inlines as a kid. A friend took me to the rink one day and I haven't been on inlines since lol. We just used to play tag tho and try not to fall. Then the OGs at the rink had a group and I wanted to skate like them so I started learning from watching them and then from youtube videos. Never took formal lessons. Which u don't need to, but just being around better skaters will make u want to try stuff and see moves u didn't even think existed. Just gotta be willing to try and not scared to fall

Nice! So when you got into it more seriously, how often did you practice? Was it daily, weekly? Unfortunately the rink I went to, well the only rink, it’s quite far and their hours aren’t exactly convenient especially if I have to rely on trains to get there. Plus, here in Toronto, Canada, roller skating is definitely not popular as it is in the States, so any techniques or styles that I’d like to learn will definitely have to be self taught as well as watching a lot of KZfaq videos.

@@DoBetterEachDay I was going 2 or 3 times a week when I started taking it seriously. or if im bored ill get up and go to the rink lol. And yea I feel u on that. I used to go to the rink with a play list of videos to watch while im there so I could practice certain things.

What is that move where one does the splits while they turn on a corner (while turning left or right while skating, not spinning)? It looks like the Big Wheel, but just doing the splits or semi (If one cannot do the splits), is it also the Big Wheel or is it called something else?
@Sk8Fam
@Sk8Fam 4 жыл бұрын
just called a split I think lol
