This summer, we're going to walk you through Rollerblade's Skate To Ski Program! For this video, Jeff talks about the steps to Get Started and for Phase 1. For the remaining videos, we'll be bringing in additional members of the SkiEssentials.com staff and covering Phases 2-4, as well as some additional super-fun, add-on steps for anyone interested.

Don't underestimate the need for wrist guards. I love skating and this year bought three-wheel inline skates. I was going over a speed bump in a parking lot, lost my balance and fell hard on my left hand. I fractured my wrist. Luckily it isn't a horrible fracture, but it is limiting daily activities for now. If I had enough forethought and wore wrist guards, I probably would have had no more than a few scrapes. Lesson learned 🙂

I love this. Thank you for posting. Just picked up some Maxxum's they do feel like a ski boot sort of. I'm thinking of adding a booster strap but it may not be necessary. Regardless, thank you this will be the first summer I look forward to.

I was just thinking about skating today myself! I start to get the itch around this time of year for warm-weather activities, although there's still a lot of good skiing to be had, so not quite yet...

I like the suggestion about turning the femurs to work the skates in parallel turns. Inline skates do indeed need more input than skis to turn.

thoughts on using roller hockey skates?

Roller hockey skates will work great! Not quite as much support as something like the Maxxum Edge, which was designed for this stuff, but certainly will work.
