I was there. Can't believe it's been a year already. I will be there for the 1 year mark. The sounds of calling for help, calling for loved ones, the wails of those finding out loved ones had passed on is something I will never forget. The ppl that live there were amazing that night, we pulled them from debris & the first thing they did was ask abt others. They just lost everything themselves yet was telling us where so & so lived, who was elderly, handicapped, etc and jumping right in to help. They are slowly rebuilding, it will take time. It's sad how long it takes to get govt funding & help-IF PPL CAN EVEN GET IT. Seen this happen with every storm event. They can get billions of dollars & aid to foreign countries in no time, but make it hard for those who live here to get any help or aid, miles of red tape...it's disgusting to see those WE elected putting OTHER countries BEFORE OUR VERY OWN! Just ask anyone that had been through a wx disaster. If the area is a big tourist attraction/money maker they get fixed immediately while the other not so popular places are ignored. Example Hurricane Michael and the other storms that hit the panhandle causing damage to PCB, Mexico Beach, & PSJ etc. PCB was fixed in no time (the main tourist areas, not the private sector) while there are ppl STILL trying to rebuild in MB, PSJ & surrounding areas. Look at LA, ppl still living in fema trailers from Katrina. I've seen it. I know people who live in those areas & hear about the struggles still today. Ex.. No flood insurance? Can't help you bc you're not insured. Oh you have flood insurance but it doesn't cover what you need? Can't help you bc you have insurance. Its past time for them to PUT OUR COUNTRY & HER PEOPLE first. That night in RF I heard MANY ppl say, yeah well be the top story for 2 weeks & then become another forgotten disaster area. SADLY they were right & we knew it when they said it. Citizens of this country we know we come in last & we should be FIRST. Please help & donate to Rolling Fork if you can.

When I said “the end of the EF-5 drought” I meant not by now but by the future
