How do the leaderboard mods know if it’s a real run or a tas this looks like an easier game to fake then most?
@rollintm3 жыл бұрын
great question! the very guy who actually made the TAS tool (which is still private, only he has access to it) also made a competition patch for the game which will automatically detected TASed runs (simply put every TAS replay has a "signature" engraved into it by which you can distinguish it from normal replays), but not just this, it also will catch ANY form of cheating, being it slowing down the game, or injecting inputs (macros) into it. The official leaderboards site TMX (made by the community) will also soon make it mandatory to drive replays you wanna upload in this patch.

I know that this community can be quite cold when it comes to TAS, but this would've never happened without the help of donadigo's brute-force algorithm. If you give the tools to the right people, good things will happen.
@RenaxTM913 жыл бұрын
I mean, the FWO guys are their own brute force algorithms, They've put hundreds of hours into shortcuts no more likely than this before without much more than the Plastorex run... But TAS showing its definitely possible surely makes them wanna do it even more...

This is insane. I just got back into Trackmania recently, and one of the things I did was trying this jump (and failing miserably, obviously). When I watched the (then) official WR without the jump I gave up on the idea. If no one did it in over ten years, it surely must be impossible. And now you guys did it. Holy cow.

Trackmania is becoming more and more like Melee. Just meant to be a fun casual game but over the years the community discovers crazy bugs and mechanics that completely change the way you play this game. Also stuff like in the beginning only the very best could wavedash. Now everyone decent can do it. In the beginning only the very best can speedslide. Now everyone decent can speedslide. People training hours upon hours to train to be frame-perfect with their combo. And people training hours upon hours to be frame-perfect with their jump-cut. Kudos to all the dedicated.

Hi, I saw you have recently uploaded a D11 replay to the leaderboard and was wondering if you had any tips for consistency on that track? I have almost 2000 attempts and only one finish, which is pretty bad. I struggle most on when to turn and how long to release for. Do you also just go with your gut on these, or do you watch some points on the track or even count seconds since start? I will be grateful for any respond.
