If they sold all the Toa and Creatures separately, a lot of collectors would say "I want to Toas and not the Creatures." But since ONE Toa comes with their respective Creature, then collectors would say "Oh I have Six Toa, the Villain, and one Creature... I better get the other five Creatures so I have the full set." That's why I think they did this.

Haven't gotten any of the second year G2 Toa yet, but this is definitely one of my favorites. Love the fact that you can put a stud in the scope. His weapons are really sweet as well. Still want to see your reviews for this year of sets as well.

About Melum's name, I have a different silly experience. I found a leak that only revealed the names and titles of the characters, so not only was there the fact that I didn't see Melum's title as the Creature of Ice, but the name sounded similar to "Malevolent" or "Malignant" which actually made me think Melum was the villain of Winter 2016, even though it should have been completely obvious that that was Umarak the Hunter.

Damn, I like Kopaka, and the set looks cool, but there's also a lot of problems I have with it. He did say it looks better in person though, so I think I might still get it.

Actually, if you count the pieces fir each individual figure, Kopaka has 131 pieces while Melum only has 40, which is significantly less than the other creatures' counts of 70+. This would technically put Kopaka at $20 and Melum at $5, but I guess they are both more in the middle.

I say, in stead of just changing the rest of the silver into gold, just simply change the United armor piece into silver. As 1, it matches with that silverfish/gray spot on the United mask. 2, it’s way easier to change one part and of a set, then just changing the rest.

I wish I could see in the reviews how Kopaka's arms move... this looks like the coolest set and the one I'd like to wade into the Uniters line with... but I don't want it to end up like a Von Nebula-type set where the arms can barely move, and it sort of looks that way. Or that you won't get much arm movement.

For the arm issue, you could substitute the 3L axle holding the Unity piece together with a 5L extending into both of those socket pieces, unless there's an element of the design I'm missing there that doesn't allow for that...

I agree with you that the stickers are bad, I found the pieces for his shield and an older technique piece, the technique sticker pealed off really easily and didn't leave any sticky stuff on the piece but kopakas shield sticker left a lot of sticky stuff on it.

I know you are kinda disappointed with the stickers, but nonetheless, Kopaka's Uniter form looks awesome along with his creature. His weapon is pretty good.

I like to think of the combinations being separate to the creature functions personally. So to me Lewa and Tahu get wings, Onua and Kopaka get armour, Gali gets cannons and a tail and Pohatu gets... spikes... or something?

I think if you wielded a gun and a sword, you would wield the gun in your dominant hand, as it is much harder to aim in a non-dominant hand, than it is to use a sword. So I think he still is right handed.

This might be the first Bionicle wave since the Stars that I won't get all the hero sets in the wave. I'm honestly really disappointed with some of these set designs, and I almost never get the smaller sets. At this point, my budget is looking more like the two large toa, their creatures, Uxar, and Umarak (which I already have) Umarak has so many minor things that can be tweaked to make him so much better, but at least that doesn't require introducing parts from other sets, if you're OK with using undocumented spares. The rest look like a half-baked effort to make the sets more technic and less ccbs. I'm grateful for the new torso design, and the possibilities it opens up, but they way they've been implemented in some of the actual sets make them worth less than the sum of their parts imo. But what do I know, I'm just some college-age kid justifying his need for tighter budgeting.

Okay, I going to say it. People complain about stickers way too much. I knew that when you said it was going to be a "dickbag" move by Lego, that it was going to be about stickers. The stickers are not bad! In fact, stickers on Lego are last longer than most stickers on other products.

I feel kinda bad for Melum, it's like a poor man's Terak TBH Like call me crazy but the stickers don't bother me as much as the fact that Melum is so bare-bones compared to the other creatures. It would have been cool to make it quadruped, considering it's based off a rhino or polar bear.
