They should do this with the costumes at the Oscars. Makes it real.

Lovely 'Laura' herself. Happy 115th Birthday Edith! Look at comely Kim Novak, jazzy Joan Weldon (married a NY Dr.), and vivacious Virginia Leith (whatever happened to HER??). And Donald O'Connor? What a Gent! Never got the recognition he so deserved. Wonderful man. Sorely missed.

I love the little blooper around the 2:30 mark where a model misses her cue and nearly runs into the other.

Somewhere along the way, the world has sadly lost so much class and style

Boy, are you right! Walk down the richest & smartest streets in LA, New York or London and what will you see? Almost without exception, everyone dressed like slobs in what is called ’athleisure.’ It’s SO sad.

In 1954 Kim Novak was a model for Columbia's From Here to Eternity , ---4 years later Kim who had become the Number 1 Female Star in the World --along with James Cagney awards the 1958 Best Actress award to Susan Hayward!

Probably Kim appearing on this Oscar show in 1954 was Columbia's idea of giving her the big buildup because shortly after, she made her bebut in the excellent film noir, "Pushover."

Edith Head was many things but not modest. Afterall, she claimed credit for the Sabrina costumes when Audrey's wardrobe was designed by Hubert de Givenchy.

TheTerryE Such a deeply unclassy move and hard to ever justify ! After Audrey found out she made show Givenchy ALWAYS had a screen credit on the films they worked on together ...

I felt Charles LeMarre should easily have won the Oscar for Best Costume design for his work on WITH A SONG IN MY HEART. Those costumes Susan wore had the Wow Factor!!!

The modest, shy, and introverted Edith Head. Probably thinking, in her head, no time for a speech.

Perhaps, at the time of "Sabrina" the head of the costume department still got all the credit and accolades.

One of the winners for "The Robe" was, obvioudsly, not thee, since both winners were male (Charles LeMaire and Emile Santiago) and one of the persons who got an Oscar was not a male.

Interesting during this era the envelopes were already opened when handed to the presenters. Not nearly as suspenseful as when the envelope is torn open by presenter.

hmmm for a costume designer you'd think she'd dress better herself, she looks a bit dowdy; maybe she was good at dressing other people but not herself
