Thunder and gloria. My take on it. Lathin Gloria= immortal/forever, prais, honor. Thunder = a big sound...SALUTE AND FOREVER PRAIS/HONOR TO THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD AN IMPACT IN OUR LIVES. LIKE A MONUMENT TO ALL THE TIME WE SPENT....

The first time I heard it I felt the same way that it didn't have quite enough power. After a few more listens though I actually think I prefer it, it feels more refreshing and you can kind of let the music wash over you if that makes any sense at all

i dont want to speak too soon, but this song gives me the same vibes that euphoria did. i think it could pull both a good jury and televote score

Spirit In The Sky feels more impactful and like it's pushing more the right buttons but Monument feels more carefully constructed and less gimicky.

Agree with everything you said! It's growing on me the more I listen to it - at the beginning I was worried because I *love* Keiino, and this didn't seem their strongest entry to me. But it is growing on me. Still would prefer them to submit something like Black Leather, but oh well!

Your pronunciation of “KEiiNO” is not necessarily wrong. I come from Southwest Norway and would pronounce it the same way as you ("Keino"). The introduction is said in an Eastern dialect, hence "Kæino". In fact, some would even say it with an a - "Kaino"

I love the song, it is my favorite with Raylee as my 2nd and Own yourself from this weeks heat as my 3rd(So cross my fingers it goes through this week or get a Wild card, hoping my 4th place Faith bloody Faith also gets a Wild card). I like the staging, but I have a feeling they might change it at least a bit for the finale.

I might be biased, seeing as I'm Norwegian, but if KEiiNO don't win this year's ESC, nonetheless the local finals, I'll eat a shoe. I'm not Sami, but I feel an extreme sense of pride listening to them.

Alex, it's about Gloria - the agricultural equipment used to harvest cereals. They are paid by The Norwegian Agriculture Ministry to promote their agricol products. :)) Or, who knows, maybe it's a tribute to Gloria Gaynor. I will survive to this. ;)

Totally agree with you. It feels like it's missing a final high light to the end. They do it with their voice, but don't do it the sound. I don't have an idea how they could change that, but I think if they find a way it will be a Top 5 song.

Wow, I am surprised that people dont get the thunder and gloria part. This song has to be understood in three different ways. First it is about the history of indiginous people an history of Europa and its glory. Secondly it is about the band and their history, one last time seeking the feeling of thunder and glory in the eurovision stage. Thirdly and most important I think, it is a song about two love ones spending a night together after brake up, one last night together as a monument of their time together. It is pronounced kaynoo, if you get that.. not kino. The joiker, Fred, comes from the village Kautokeino, Norwegian spelling . So the name of the trio is made of the last part according to Sami spelling I presume. I'm Norwegian, but not Sami.
