Piazza del Popolo is a large urban square in Rome. The name in modern Italian literally means "People's Square", but historically it derives from the poplars after which the church of Santa Maria del Popolo, in the northeast corner of the piazza, takes its name. The piazza lies inside the northern gate in the Aurelian Walls, once the Porta Flaminia of ancient Rome, and now called the Porta del Popolo.

Santa María del Popolo es una iglesia digna de visitarse. Los Caravaggio y los Pinturicchio ya lo justifican. Y el eterno cielo azul de Roma, aún en una tarde de fines de diciembre. Muchas gracias!!!

This video showing Santa Maria del Popolo made my day. To see the two Caravaggio paintings and the Pinturicchio painting is breathtaking!!! What a treat to visit Santa Maria dei Miracoli . Everytime we tried to visit it is always closed!! Thank you Romano Impero. I always look forward to your beautiful craftsmanship.

4.54, chapelle magnifique avec ses marbres rouges et noirs... ainsi que toutes celles qui suivent. J'apprécie beaucoup la façon dont vous filmez les églises de Rome : d'abord, vous entrez, vue générale. Puis vous longez lentement les allées latérales en prenant soin de montrer chaque chapelle. On a l'impression de déambuler à vos côtés. Quelque chose cependant m'interroge : votre caméra ne possède pas de zoom ! Ce n'est pas trop important, mais il pourrait par exemple vous permettre de réaliser de gros plans sur les fabuleuses peintures du Caravage que j'aime particulièrement. Je n'ai pas fini ! Je poursuis ma promenade et je reviens vers vous ( désolé ! Mes commentaires sont toujours un peu longs...). Le bâtiment, à la façade moderne et face à l'église Santa Maria del Popolo n'est pas le bienvenu et jure avec le reste de la place. L'histoire de l'obélisque est incroyable ! j'ai bien aimé les deux colonnes rostres de chaque côté de la fontaine de la déesse Rome. Peut-être y en avait-il de semblables sur le forum romain. Je pense qu'il devait très certainement y avoir des mouettes dans le ciel de Rome dans les temps antiques. Des pigeons je sais pas !😮😊

C'est vrai Pierre, tu ne sais pas combien de fois j'aurais aimé regarder en détail les peintures ou les frises de marbre.. J'aime beaucoup les détails, mais je dois m'adapter à la machine disponible, peut-être que dans le futur je fera quelque chose de meilleure qualité. 🙂👍

Era la data della commemorazione della morte dell'imperatore Nerone. Fonte odierne dicono che sia avvenuta il 9 giugno, all'epoca veniva celebrata il 9 luglio. 👍
